Default O'Shea's Never again

This afternoon we decided to try O'Shea"s for lunch

We went about 11:30am--

Sat in a booth at the front--there were already a few people sitting at the bar.. We ordered two Guiniss--then proceeded to order our lunch--They had a special Turkey dinner and I ordered that--Eddie ordered the fish and chips--
The food came and to my amazement there were two slices of turkey "the kind you get from the deli in slices--mashed potatoes were full of lumps--vegetable had so much spice-no one could eat it--gravey very thin and from a jar or can--I tasted the turkey and it was awful--I gave the food back to the waitress and asked that she remove it from the bill.. Eddie had the fish and chips--fish was good but batter was full of Greece--potatoes were soggy and cole slaw had no flavor to it.. We paid the bill and said never again--any one else have a similar experience?

Went once -- ordered meatloaf and requested fries instead of mashed potatoes. A food runner delivered the food. I looked at my plate, looked at the person delivering the food, looked at my plate again -- the runner obviously saw nothing wrong the plate. It had two slices of meatloaf, nothing else. I asked if something was missing and when the runner still didn't get it, asked for the fries (seemed obvious to me that the plate needed more than meat). The meatloaf was burnt on the bottom. I was not impressed.

I won't say never again but I certainly won't recommend it.

As a big proponent of Mom and Pop type restaurants, we gave O'Sheas 3 tries.

Needless to say, the third time was not the charm nor was the first or second.

Moving on to other places.

It's such a shame! I know how much money has been put into it and I would really like to see the mom and pops make it but not sure it is possible. We had a similar experience with Weston Smokehouse in Wildwood. Great service but very little presentation or taste at either place!

First time we went about 6 weeks ago my wife had the Shepherds Pie. It was almost all potato's with a 1/4 inch of unflavored chopped meat on the bottom. I also had the " tasteless" coleslaw and I forgot what I had with it but it wasn't remarkable. We will probably go again and try something else. It amazes me that no one in the kitchen tastes the food they're serving................

Was there with a large, varied group on Saturday night. There were a variety of orders, all arrived complete and in a timely manner. I am not aware of any problems with the food or service. All in our group left happy.

Two burnt burgers. May go back to try something else. I want to try their fish & chips before I give up.

I've never heard or read anything negative about TooJay's, I know they have great food and service as I go there a lot. I think TooJay's mgmnt should give alot of restuarants here some tips on running a successful restuarant!

Not sure what this has to do with O'Sheas. Why the comment?

Went to O'Sheas once. walked in to a halve empty diner. Told we would have to wait 15-20 minutes for table. Made no sense to us so we left..

It is on 44 & Powell. Go out Brownwood on 44. Make a right & it's a short ways on the left.

I think the purpose of tucson's comment was to point out the fact that management can make or break a restaurant, and that's the place to start to fix a bad restaurant. He/She was using TooJays as an example of how to make a restaurant successful.

And you do wonder, like Bill 32 questions, if they ever taste their food. Surely they could fix this place.
