Was she treated with poor business etiquette? Absolutely.
Did her quitting leave him in the lurch during holiday season? Most probably.
This experience has provided the contrast to help your bride decide where she
really prefers to work. That's the gift.

If Bonnie did receive her paycheck and did cash it, RedSauce would be able to bring up a copy of the cancelled check showing it was paid or deposited at a bank.

I am perplexed about why Bonnie quit the job after just being told that Rick was an unfair person. To quit after one shift did leave Rick and RedSauce shorthanded. Bonnie should have given notice so he could find another hostess.

It is really unfortunate to have employer-employee disputes come down to shouting matches.

Definitely, there is a lot more to this incident than we are privy to with just one person's side.

What i'm looking to gain from this forum is useful content about TV and, for the most part, that is what I've gotten from participating in our ToTV forum. However, I'm not interested in reading a post that serves as a personal vendetta and this post strikes me just as that....a personal vendetta.

Oh and by the way...Merry Christmas and a great holiday season to the members of ToTV

I think she should pursue this jerk! Why let him get away with treating women like this? If nothing else, I at least know where I'm not going to patronize when I come to TV! The problem is with "business" people like him is that he has been allowed to get away with it. Someone needs to put this guy in his place. I'll bet if everyone else that was displeased with how they were treated my him you would all have a case against him! I know life is short but wrong is wrong....

Regardless of the situation, Rick is the business owner and he needs to be put in his place for calling anyone a Bimbo! Seriously?? If my husband ever heard anyone call me a bimbo it wouldn't be pretty. Rick doesn't deserve to be in business. He's a cheat and an abuser. I own a business and have NEVER been unkind to the 25,000 people I've done business with. Even though I don't know both sides of the story, I think it's worth going after this guy just for the principle! Quite frankly, after working one day I'm sure a 2 week notice wasn't necessary. There were probably a few others who applied for the job that he could have called in that day. So, he probably wasn't short handed for long. And for the record, I won't be visiting that establishment..... ever.

If you have a dispute with an employer because of over-due wages, you go to the Wage and Hour Division of the Dept. of Labor.

If you are discriminated against by an employer because of your age, race, sex, religion or national orgin, you go to the EEOC

If you are discriminated against by your employer because of your union activities or concerted activities, then you go to the NLRB.

So then..don't read it. Change the channel if it upsets you. Everyone has the right to express themselves EVEN in a forum format. Let her be. Move on. Don't be dismissive of her complaints. Go read something else if it upsets you.

"Discretion is the better part of valor."

dis·cre·tion noun \dis-ˈkre-shən\

Definition of DISCRETION

1 : the quality of having or showing discernment or good judgment : the quality of being discreet : circumspection; especially : cautious reserve in speech

2 : ability to make responsible decisions

3 a : individual choice or judgment <left the decision to his discretion>

------

val·or noun \ˈva-lər\

Definition of VALOR

: strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dicti...0&t=1324174013

Employers--both present and potential future ones--like their employees to have and use discretion on the job....in problem solving, dealing with clientele, and handling company information.

Default And Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat......

I like "Descretion is the better part of valor"...

and there are other sayings too.

Let's take the higher road.

And you can't win a ****ing contest.

And there is no pee in Lake Sumter.

And...

Who knows what the Shadow knows...

And...the elves are watching.

There is no need to get your knickers in a hitch over less than a hundred dollars...at that goes to both sides. He shoulda paid her just to not have this sort of unpleasantness broadcast around and

Judge Judy would say...this thing is all hearsay.

End of my legal knowledge and philosophies.

OH..and it isn't cancer. That is my favorite, and often said around our house, because once it was.........

If you only read Bonnie's rants you'll discover that this isn't some ordinary 'girl gets job, male boss treats her bad and she quits' story. She obviously knows this guy very well. She seems to have known him a lot before and lot after the one day job. Of course everyone says 'but no man should treat a women this way'. Duh! If the story was to be believed then of course not. But I just don't buy the one way story we are getting.

And did anyone notice that Bonnie posted under Micheal's name on the last post? I think fishy!

Labor relations( here in California we call it EDD) they will add an additional days pay for 30 days to the total the employer owes.

As M.E.Mason posted yesterday "we only get one side of the story".
