Sonny's in The Villages, as well as Sonny's in Leesburg have both gone down hill. We do not eat at either one anymore. We also do not recommend them. LMR

Would you please favor me with a reply and provide me with a detailed account of your visit, including your server's name, along with the date and time, and what you ordered. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Your feedback is invaluable, and I look forward to hearing from you. bbqm@heritagemanagement.net
Glad to see you reading the thread Joanie!

A couple years ago I had a bad experience at Cody's, posted a thread here and the manager there read it and responded. There were no lame excuses made but a fair explanation given and a remedy put in place. It was a very poorly cooked steak on special, not a service problem. Every restaurant will occasionally have a service slip-up, as will any business. I've never been disappointed by Cody's since.

Next time I'm in Sonny's, I'll make a point of saying hi!

As anyone can tell from this message thread, you cannot please everyone all of the time. Some people say it is the best, some say it is terrible.

Go to Tripadvisor.com and you can pick out just about any restaurant, hotel, or cruiseline and you will see the same thing.

I was on a cruise a few years ago that stopped at Tallin, Estonia. Some of the older ladies (from New York?) were complaining about the walking in the historic part of the city. It was 1,000 year old cobblestone streets and they were saying it should be blacktopped so tourists could walk easier! They also said that the directional signs in St. Petersburg, Russia, should be also written in English so American tourists could read them.

No matter what, some people will complain. Personally, I believe Sonny's does a great job with a pulled pork sandwich on garlic toast. Yea, Sonny's!!

We found just the opposite. We have been back three times finding the staff pleasant and helpful. The food has always been great and the prices are not out of line. Sorry to hear you had such a bad first impression.

Boy Howdy. Welcome to the forum!

What a pleasant first post!

Haven't been there in awhile. I think we will try them soon.

I don't understand the downhill comment. I've been there, not often mind you, since they opened and I don't see any difference. Not the best IMHO but the same as they used to be. I prefer Oakwood but every now and then I don't feel like taking the car

I love Oakwood. I love the cooked all day midwestern style GREEN BEANS and the sweetpotato all smushy with melted butter and the falling off the bone ribs with enough fat to make you think you shouldn't be eating this...for a second. I choose just a tad of the sweet sauce to eat with mine.

I love the sweet strong Southern iced tea.

I like the slaw.

I doubt if it will get the Mobil five star but it gets all five of mine.

Yes - sorry about that. I guess I just haven't seen any decline myself. But I go in there knowing what to expect and I've been satisfied.

I'd be curious if I'm the only one. Not that it makes any difference because I will never go back and will tell everyone how bad it was.
we have dined in sonnys and sometimes the ribs are great and othe times NOT as good. if you go early you get the senior special and you really can't beat the price. Not a favorite but a once in awhile type place.

Had lunch at Sonny's today. Wife and I both had pulled pork combo and it was very good . Service was excellent. First time back after avoiding eating there for 6 month because of soso meals and shaky service. Today was much improved and we think they deserve another chance.

McDonalds is NOT decent. They create fake food with fake flavor. You deserve better. I liked Sonny's ribs and my service was fine.
