Angry Watch Comcast Cable Bill

If you own your cable modem look out for Comcast charging you a rental charge for the modem. I purchased my own cable modem in February 2012 and had no issues until my last Comcast bill. now they are charging me a $7.00 per month modem rental. Call to Comcast customer service resulted in a credit to my account but still waiting to see it "posted".

They have HORRIBLE customer service. We too had an issue and was on the phone with them for an hour getting transferred around, then up to the New England region who couldn't connect me with a southern region. The NE region wanted to give me 'a few phone numbers' that I could use to resolve my problem. It's too bad that we can't get Brighthouse Communications (top rated by a 'leading consumer magazine') where we live. There is nothing like competition to keep businesses on their toes.

Thanks for the heads up. I too have my own modem and will check my bill closely. I have been looking for a reason to dump them.

Did you add their telephone service? They told me I had to use their modem for the telephone service.

They don't make it easy to dump them. Tried that the past two days just to dump the tv service that I didn't need and keep the internet. They transferred me from one place to another. I was on the phone for 45 minutes and they finally just hung up on me. Then I tried the online chat and the guy got surly with me and you can tell he read my history that I was trying to cancel a service and then he wouldn't talk to me and said to call customer service. They are horrible.

Watch your Bill !! Got my bill today. They added a charge for International calling on this months bill. Upon calling they apologized and removed the amount issuing a 3 month credit on the same. If they get away with errors look how much they'll make.

I am a GEEK try to use Twitter to @comcastcares it is supposed to be the president, it isn't but it is Comcast and it is well monitored. I got a resolution within 6 hours once. I did start with "A Senior Citizen has a question"..someone actually called me from customer service

I have never had to deal with a major corporation that sneaks charges in the way Comcast does. I have the bundle service and up to this month was paying $99.99 plus line items that got me to $114. This month begins a new year for me and the bundle fee is now $119.99. Additionally they threw in an extra $4.99 for "Additional TV Service". Ths is the 2nd time in a year that they snuck in some "extra" which I never ordered.

Buyer beware when you're dealing with this company.

I wished my bill was like yours. My bundle went from 129.99 when I first signed up two years ago to last year 164.00 to today's bill 190.00. Now looking for another carrier. Called to see if they could help me on lowering my bill but was told no. Good bye Comcast.

Where is our Attorney General on this? We seem to have very weak consumer protection activity in this state.

Unhappy

Have had same $7.00 added to my internet 3 times in last year.
Every time I called they said they could not change current month's bill, but would put a credit in for the following month's bill. Which they did.
I have always owned my own modem.
Think about it - how much "cash" have they accumulated if they are doing this to everyone who owns modem.
Also had my connection lost three times in last 6 months. Was told I needed to have their maintenance added to my charges so they could check my modem to see if that was problem.
Called Motorola and was assured there was nothing wrong with modem, that I was just disconnected by Comcast.
Thinking of bundling with Century Link - are they any better?

Had Century Link and couldn't wait to get rid of them. TV froze, channels changed voice didn't, internet was terrible, price changed after I signed.

We need more company's here in the villages competing for our dollars. I wish we could choose from Comcast.brignthouse,AT&T uverse, direct tv,dish tv.etc. need some competition. I'm wondering if the ad in the daily sun for "free" tv antenna to pick up some channels transmitted over the airways for free really works.
