Default Are the current crop of AI contestants the weakest ever?

Does Simon seem like he is not critical enough with this season's AI wanna-bes?

There are only one or two contestants this season whom I would consider buying recoordings from -- Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox.

This is the first season of Idol I have ever watched. I have to agree with Taltarzac about Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox. Watching tonight (Tuesday) and wow...Crystal Bowersox blew me away...I just wished she'd clean-up. Sorry, those dreadlocks just look nasty to me. Lee Dewyze has an amazing voice and seems to be getting his confidence.

I think Tim Urban is next to be eliminated. I agree that Bowersox and Deyze will be two of the finalists.

Yeah, Tim Urban is not going to make it much further. I missed Casey James' performance tonight. How'd he do?

I think Tim is going to squeak by again and that it will be either Didi or Katy that sings the show out tomorrow.
Andy is the comeback kid for tonight. Siobhan had a surprising horrid night and Andy was boring and everyone else did real well. Lee was the by far the standout performance tonight.

It seems to me than none of the contestants are being taught to take over the stage, connect with the audience (sing directly to the audience) and the song choices are terrible.

I do believe that it shows the absence of Paula Abdul as a choreographer who obviously was involved in teaching the contestants how to dance and take over the stage. You don't see any of them moving around and showing emotions or connections with the audience or with the songs.

I would love to see them have the contestants choose a few songs from the 60's and 70's when songs could be understood, had a story, along with a tempo and tune, rather than the repititous words in these new songs with no tempo at all. B O R I N G.

Songs like Sinatra's, Bobby Darren (Mac The Knife), Ella Fitzgerald, and so many more greats in that era.

I love music, but can't stand the yelling and belting out the same lines over and over.

Arrow Going Home...

I thought that Didi was, by far, the worst performance of the night and quite frankly, I'm sick of her crying. This girl has had issues from day one. I loved Lee and Casey. I sooooooooooo wish Tim Urban would go home!!! I call him Monkey Hair Boy. Does anyone remember The Monkeys???? He could step right in. But I'm sure millions of 10 year old girls are voting for him like crazy.

I also like Crystal and Siobhan (even though she had a bad night.

But, frankly I wouldn't buy a ticket to see any one of this year's contestants.

Barb, LOL. I bet when you were growing up listening to music from the 60s and 70s, especially Elvis, your parents were saying "turn that noise off".

I feel the same way that you do about some of the "mindless" modern music. However American Idol caters to teenagers. If they started singing Ella Fitzgerald and Mac The Knife, you'd hear the sound of a million of teenagers sighing in disgust!

...though I only watched the first hour of American Idol last night and missed seeing half or so of the contestants. Tim Urban I expect will be in the bottom three again though along with Katie Stevens.

Default Who goes home tonight from the top 9?

I expect that Tim Urban will squeak by again and make it to the Top 8. Katie Stevens sounded really good last night and hopefully will get out from the Bottom Three. If not her in the Bottom Three it is kind of hard to guess who might else be in it??

Aaron Kelly?

Andrew Garcia perhaps leaving tonight??

See Tim Urban, Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens in the bottom three seats with Stevens getting out from Bottom two face-off with Ryan Seacrest.

I think it may be Garcia leaving tonight. I find him quite boring.

Speaking of boring, how about Kate Gosselin on Dancing with the Stars? Whoops, off topic.

Bowersox and Casey James definitely look like finalists to me. I like Lee Dewyze and I thought that the fact that he used a bagpipe player was cute. He lacks confidence though. And he is best friends with Garcia. So if Garcia gets voted off, that might really demoralize Dewyze.

Default Big surprise with Big Mike as the person left with the least amount of votes.

He has been one of the contestants I like the most in this Season's competition.

I agree, Tal....He's been a fav of mine as well and seems to be the only one out of the group that actually connects with the audience......b

We have been watching this all season. First time for us. We get it 24 hours after USA, so I try not to read any posts regarding the show.
Our favourites from the start are Christal Bowersox and Big Mike, least favourite, the girl who screams her last notes, (awful!!)
I hope big mike gets through, he did pick the wrong song this time
