I'm very happy for Kris. Every song he sang was different and showed different sides of his musical talents. Did you notice that Adam had the same formula for every song-dramatic beginning-screaming middle-big ending. I'm sure he will find his place in the music world.

I thought Kris would win tonight because: Danny's fans probably would have voted for Kris; Kris's fan base was said to be young teenage girls who could lie in bed and continue to try to vote for hours while I gave up after about 5 minutes; the pics of Adam performing in drag were all over the internet this week; I believe there was a backlash against Simon's proclamation week after week that Adam was the best!

Anyway, the Idol concerts will be good this Summer and I hope they all do well.

Adam will go on to greater things for sure and it was so nice to see the underdog win. I just wanted to jump through the TV and give Kris a big ole hug!

The judges certainly did all they could to ensure Adam's win, which may have hurt him in the end.
I couldn't have said it better. You are right on target. Personally, I believe Kris also got Danny's overflow vote, another wholesome, humble, all American guy.

When visiting with our grandchildren this past weekend, they all were rooting for Kris Allen to win......while acknowledging Adam was awesome as well.

Adam , although extremely talented with probably the better voice and stage presence is very very experienced. I've read that he relocated from his hometown of San Diego at age 18 to pursue his theatrical music career in Hollywood, living in West Hollywood. With 10 years experience (not counting his schooling in a professional music school) he's no amatuer in my book; although my husband does say the show isn't necessarily for amatuers.

Adam will have no problems at all succeeding in life.......but it was indeed nice to see the "dark horse" win. He seemed shocked by it all at the end.
Both exhibited very good sportsmanship. Personally, I think Adam's drama queen persona and over the top makeup (although understandable in a stage musical) might have cost him some votes.......at least in my husband's opinion.

But, then what do we know, living in Vermont. In today's daily newspaper, "Dear Abby" column has the cutest letters from readers of not well known states and the strangest queries they get.

The people from Rutland, Vermont who honeymooned in Alaska, on a cruise ship, were asked where they were from.

When they replied, "Vermont", they were then asked what state it was in:
Maine or Massachusetts?

They replied politely, "Vermont is the 14th state".

Other people wrote that visitors didn't know English was spoken in Hawaii nor which side of the road people drove on, etc., etc. plus where could they exchange their money?

A bank teller in Florida, when asked to wire some money to Minnesota, asked if it was in the United States. Go figure.

Other people didn't know upstate New York was a state or that Delaware was a state. Sorry, off track from Kris and Adam.....but it was cute and makes one wonder whatever happened to geography in school.

I am very happy that Kris won. We have followed Idol since it's conception.
Love the auditions in the beginning. They get us through a long cold winter.

Smile Great Show!!

I really enjoyed the show last night. I am happy for both Kris and Adam. They are both great, they will both have great futures ahead of them. I had tears in my eyes (happy tears lol) when Kris was singing with Keith Urban! I cant even imagine the excitement he must have been feeling at that moment. A moment he will never forget I am sure, they looked like they were having so much fun singing together!

I absolutely agree! Adam is worldwide superstar talent, that's for sure. I know they will both have phenomenal careers. But, I don't think Kris will have staying power. He's too soft and forgettable for me.

Adam is still

I agree with Chels! This is like when Clay Aiken didn't win, but then went on to be the bigger star. If this was a true singing competition and not a popularity contest, Adam would have won hands down!

You could have knocked me over with a feather when Kris won. I was SOOO pulling for Adam. Adam didn't have a chance with all the "tweeners" sitting in their Hannah Montana pajamas, in their rooms filled with Jonas Brothers posters, texting votes for 4 hours to Kris. It had nothing to do with singing ability...it was all about "Oh, he's so cute". Granted, Kris can sing but he's not the star Adam is!

Default Clay vs Reuben

Will turn out the same way. Adam will become the Star, make millions. A year from now, record label will drop him like they have dropped Reuben. He best invest that $1,000,000 he won because he will not make much more.

Adam is a Star and will continue to grow and make lots of money.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Remember, when you're listening to a CD you don't see the "guyliner" and drama. I think that'll make a big difference in Adam's career.

I'm glad Kris won, Adam is/was getting a bit too full of himself.

I had a bad feeling that Kris would win because more teeny boppers could relate to Kris, but to me he is totally forgetable. Adam continually show his versatility to do both soft ballads and hard rock. What a range! He has the most talent I have witnessed in the history of the show. I just don't think Kris has anything "special." A cute face and being a nice guy is just not enough.

The winner of American Idol wins a million dollars? I didn't know that.

Default I am changing my ways.

I must be the only living breathing soul who hasn't watched any of the eight seasons.

I am certainly watching next year.

It's the AI winner's record contract which is worth $1 million. He/
she does not get a check for $1 million like Survivor.
