So, if a dog pees on your lawn, the owner should help you pay to have the lawn mowed, weeded, watered and fertilized? Sounds reasonable... Said no one ever...

Deflect all you want. If I still had a dog I wouldn’t dream of letting it use a neighbors lawn.

Chalk this up to the endless debate on this topic.

Deflect? I responded to an actual post!

And I'd pay money to watch you try to stop your dog from peeing when on a walk...

Silly me. All of the dogs I owned used my yard.

A little forwards planning. My neighbor across the street actually has mild dementia. He walks his dog around his front lawn until the dog goes. If the dog doesn’t, they go back inside. Eventually the dog tries again. As a reward (I suppose) they then go for a walk. But he also takes the dog to the dog park every day. On rainy days they have dog play dates with visitors. Those dogs are also expected to go in his yard.

Up north, if you go on people’s lawns trespassing laws apply. I do not know if that is the case in TV.

She started running around playing with us, and them, with a case of "the zoomies". At one point, she stopped in her tracks and decided to "off load", right on their yard. We profusely apologized and our new neighbors said, "Don't worry about it, just make sure you clean it up, she can run around out here whenever she wants..."

A few days later, they invited us over for drinks, and said "Bring Maggie, we love her!". As we were sitting on their lanai, Maggie jumped in the husband's lap for a belly scratch... She found a new friend... He was just as happy as she was...

We have other neighbors (not dog owners) who carry treats when they take a walk...

Just be nice, just be respectful to your neighbors... It really isn't that hard...

As a dog owner… I hope that is what you meant. It’s not like the home owner is running out to assault you for letting the dog on their property, is it?

WALK them wherever. MAKE THEM GO POTTY ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY!

Everyone is very respectful and picks up any dog poop. Our scared neighbors automatically move to the other side of the street. We feel stalked and sad.
When I was a kid the neighborhood played ball on our street. We had a neighbor who hid in her bushes and God forbid a ball went into her yard she would pounce out with it in her hands and announced that she wasn’t giving it back. We learned to avoid her as much as possible, but she was a sad, mean-spirited woman and we felt sorry for her. All I can say about someone who intentionally would turn on their sprinklers on a woman with dementi is that it is sad. They need to get a hobby and remember that this is supposed to be the “friendliest” community. As a dog owner, I make sure my dog does not go onto anyone’s lawn. It is a matter of respect. I have a neighbor who allows her dog to poop on my front yard. She is an elderly lady who is sweet. I don’t stay up at night dwelling on it and so I let it go. Life is short.

1. Maybe the poster or a neighbor of the sprinkler home could let them know the lady has dementia.
She might slip and fall on the wet surface and seriously injure herself.
2. The lady and her dog could walk on the other side of the street.
3. If the lady has dementia, she may get lost when walking her dog. The neighbors concerned about her could offer to walk with her or walk the dog for her.
4. If the poster of this thread is concerned enough to post about this maybe he/she could help rectify the situation.
Good luck.
