Bobkat1: I lived in Des Moines for a few years and visited Roseann Barr's place :Big Food" Her pork tenderloins were excellent and her maid rites were so good that thet never left any oil spot on the waxed paper lining the baskets.

Freirich. YUM. I LOVE tenderloin (smoked pork butt) boiled or steamed with a bit o butter
and mustard on some fresh, soft potato or white bread. And how about mince? Catsup on fresh bread????? Salivating. Rainy days are perfect for both meats. |

Pardon me, but loin and butt are two different cuts of meat. The loin runs along the back and the butt is....... butt.

I wonder if MR could somehow tout some kind of health benefit from steaming vs. frying? |

I'm late to the party, but Mccall's Tavern in SS has a decent pork tenderloin sandwich! We were shocked to see it on the menu. Hadn't had one in years, so we enjoyed them a lot!

Does anyone on here know how the original maid rites were made? I'd love to have the real recipe. We've tried very hard to duplicate it and have come close but just can't seem to get it exactly right. Any help is much appreciated!

Sauté beef and onions until cooked. Drain and return to pan. 2. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. Enjoy! SO easy, right?!

You can get great pulled pork at Woody's
in Wildwood, and also at Texas Stockyard on 441. |
