I got an email yesterday that looked like a genuine Amazon order, saying that my $1500 iPhone 13 it’s being shipped to an address in Dunellen Florida with $110 shipping fee charged to my Amazon account. I was going to reply, But the address the reply was going to was definitely not Amazon, so I just deleted the whole thing.

If I didn’t order anything or expecting anything from anybody, I delete the email & don’t even open it. It’s a simple solution!

I do my best not to give true answers. SPOKEO had me listed as 150 years old with more money that Buffet and Gates combined. My aunt must have looked it up and corrected some of the information as she is now the only one listed who knows me. She is in assisted living. My birthday? She has it wrong.

All companies CLAIM they do not sell your information. Amusing project, change the spelling of your name, perhaps your middle initial and you will see who is selling your name.
Great idea to change the spelling of my last name. Will be doing this for sure

Agreed.

Something I've just noticed...I had my annual physical a couple of weeks ago, and a few days after I received a "tell us how we did" Email from them. I didn't open it, and the reason I didn't open it is because in the next day or two afterwards I began receiving similar Emails from (for example) Costco, a newspaper that I subscribe to online, a Villages veterinarian clinic, etc. In one, the email banner not only had my last name misspelled but included grammar that was, to say the least, clumsy. All of them included entities that I'd been corresponding with via Email, and data miners compiling lists of correspondents from a given Email address is common.

Maybe there is nothing to be worried about. But I'd be VERY suspicious of any of these types of "tell us how we did" asks for verification such as name, account number, etc.

Really, never would of thought I’d that? It’s for the ones that have multiple stuff delivered weekly or Xmas shopping with multiple tracking packages.

Default Got me

Never thought it would happen, but they got me. Received notice that my Norton Anti-virus had been renewed for $261. I know that I had set my preference to not renew. Called the 800 number in the email They said that because of their mistake they would cancel the charge and put $100 in my checking account as a gift for their error. OK! Gave them my account number and checked and sure enough they had put $1000 in my account. I told him they had made a mistake! Oh NO! I'll lose my job. I can't take it out, I can only make a deposit. Please go out and buy two $500 gift cards and I'll put $200 back in your account for the trouble. Like an idiot I bought the two cards, gave him the numbers and good bye charlie. The money was never really in my account. He showed me a picture of my checking account with the $1000 deposit, but when I went back to check it, it wasn't there. I went to the bank the next day and they said that the deposit was never there and it was a screen shot that he created and showed me. He has even called back to apologize and said I can straighten this out with your help. No thanks! You've helped me enough. Had to close my account, scrub my computer, open a new bank account and kiss $1K bye, bye.
I'm embarrassed to tell this story, but it's true, and I'm an idiot. The bank said that they had seen this several times, so guess I'm not the only idiot.

Sorry to hear you got scammed. You weren't the first and you won't be the last, sad to say.
We were fooled too, but different scenario.
Sadder but wiser now, I hope.

Actually, if you think about it ... without even checking the sender's email address ...

How does UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc even have your email address associated with your physical address? If a real physical delivery was attempted, they leave a piece of paper because they don't know your email address in the first place. They also don't typically have your phone number so that's also why they don't call you - only scammers do.

This why I post these when I see new one. I don’t want somebody to get snookered.

Well all people have to do is use your common sense. Did you order something or do you know who sent it to you! If I didn’t do either one of these things I don’t answer or except any packages that isn’t someone I know & absolutely don’t except any package that I’m not expecting. Also nobody should have to call or email, Fed Ex, Amazon, prime or eBay to get something that belongs or has your name on it. To except something that’s unknown, just be cautious. Also you should never have to waste your time emailing or calling anyone to get something that’s yours, if it has postage on it then it should be delivered.
