But panic and fear mongering have won the day in The Villages.

Lets all be sheeple and wear our useless masks...walk down the aisles like big brother tells us too...

Amazing how quickly people obey without thinking
Yes, funny how some folks just aren’t suicidal.

But, on another note, now we are finally coming to the time where things are changing for the better.

The point golf should of been shut down from day one. That the point. ALL outdoor activity including the one that’s money maker.

I will be playing on day 1.

My unscientific and purely personal opinion is that there is lest virus risk associated with pickleball or softball (when some precautions are taken) than with the swimming venues. Amazingly, no one asked me first.
Please tell me where they are playing pickleball in other locations, and if those locations are available to us. I agree with you about the risk of pickleball vs the risk of congregating at a swimming pool.

Well I think I'm done with the forum and maybe TV.
It's all you insiders and sheepls that now have given all government leaders the blueprint on how to get around the "Bill of Rights" .
Declare a state of emergency because of a so called worldwide pandemic (7.8 billion people in the world 234,795 deaths as of May 2 - that is .00299102 % ) and we all lose our churches , local businesses, and way of life for most likely a long time. The Governments and news media now control all aspects of our lives because we are unable to demand the government and News Media put everything in context and let us decide how we are going to deal with this problem. All your food ,medicine , and whatever can be delivered for all you insiders and all the outsiders can be free to choose.

If you're thinking of leaving TV, you might want to check out the Michigan Militia. I think their beliefs are in line with yours. I'm being serious, actually.

Conversation typically goes like this:

Go outsider: I want to play softball, pickleball, golf, swimming etc

Stay at homer: Noooooooo!!!! You'll kill us all!!!

Go outsider: How so? You don't have to play if you don't want to.

Stay at homer: Your dangerous activity will infect me when I go to Publix!!!

Go outsider: You are much more likely to get infected inside a supermarket than I am on a softball field.

Stay at homer: You'll have blood on your hands!!!

And so on...

Stay at homers should be advised that there are only two ways to reduce risk to zero.

Achieve worldwide herd immunity (could take 1.5 to 2 years) or produce 8 billion shots of 100% effective vaccine. (not likely based on medical history)

Risk of contagion drops dramatically when you are outside. In a study of : Three hundred and eighteen outbreaks with three or more cases were identified, involving 1245 confirmed cases in 120 prefectural cities. We divided the venues in which the outbreaks occurred into six categories: homes, transport, food, entertainment, shopping, and miscellaneous. We identified only a single outbreak in an outdoor environment, which involved two cases.

Conclusions: All identified outbreaks of three or more cases occurred in an indoor environment, which confirms that sharing indoor space is a major SARS-CoV-2 infection risk

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1...058v1.full.pdf

The FDA has never approved a vaccine for humans that is effective against any member of the coronavirus family, which includes SARS, MERS, and several that cause the common cold

Will There Be a Coronavirus Vaccine? Maybe Not
Thank you for the good post. Don’t know why people don’t understand that you cannot stay locked up forever. Viruses are always going to be out there. Most of us that are not that 5% that have severe underlying conditions want to get back to living. This whole thing has been overhyped and over done.

What a ridiculous response by you. We are Americans and we do not give up our freedom’s. Maybe it’s you that needs to leave the villages. And I’m serious!

I rode my bike past one of the PB sites yesterday and they were playing. I'd rather not say where so that some busybody doesn't cause a ruckus. It is a private community so we cant play there.

The reason softball and pickleball has not reopened is TV recreation has not figured out a plan to protect people who play these sports. It is difficult to devise a plan to prevent a problem that has never existed. Nationally there has not been one reported case from people playing softball and pickleball or a lot of other sports for that matter. It is sad how people are so quick to be critical of something they know absolutely nothing about. The sheep do what the watch dog moves them to do. Why, because they are scared of the dog. The Villages is a place to be active and socialize. If you are afraid to do that, perhaps you are at the wrong place. I was raised to worry about me and that would be a full time job. Others should spend their time working on worrying about themselves. Protect yourself the way you see fit, but let others take care of themselves. No one can give you the virus, you have to get it because of your own bad habits.
