Usually personal injury attorneys will consult with you for no charge. If you have to go through the pain and suffering of rabies shots, you might want to sue Grandpa for your injuries. He needs to get knocked around for this - and hitting him in his pocketbook might be the best route. Good luck.

Whoever took these pictures, another guy (standing) in the 3rd picture was having a conversation with the dog owner. There’s more here than meets the eye. What did the owner tell that guy?

I agree. There is very little maintenance that takes place other than grass cutting and refilling the bags in the canister.
Dealing with each individual Rec center is not ideal so I was hoping there was another option for raising concerns. |

Here’s a little different take on what could have happened. I wasn’t there just like the rest of you chiming in here where not there or witnessed this “unprovoked attack”. What if this poor “victim” provoked grandpa’s dog? As I am typing this a advertisement comes on my TV for a Personal injury attorney, lol. Two sides to every story. Why hasn’t the OP chimed back in on any of these posts??

I am sorry this happened to you. Dog owner needs to take responsibility give records for rabies. At least be concerned. Your wound looks normal not a vicious bit and our old skin doesn't take kindly to sharp objects. Clean it well and use neosporin once then keep it covered in vaseline. It is important to find out if the dog has its rabies shot. I would like to know how this happened? Did the dog walk over and bite you or did you get between two dogs playing or fighting? It makes a very big difference for the life of the dog. And you. Dog owners should be responsible if you are bit no matter how they must have their shots. They should have shared information instead of running away like guilty criminals.

It doesn't matter one bit whether the dog was provoked, the owner should not have left the scene so that it could have been determined by proper legal/medical authority as to what measures should be taken. It needs to be shown that the dog was up to date on rabies vaccination. We're talking about the life of a human possibly being threatened by an infection that if not treated early will lead to death. If the dog cannot be located, a doctor may deem it necessary for the bitten person to begin treatment for rabies, which I understand is quite painful. The biting dog owner should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Is it up to date? Neither of us know so it needs to be verified. In no way does that excuse the illegal act by the dog owner to flee the scene.
