I think the construction workers call those chicken bones, "hueso de pollo."

I don't think anyone's talking about entering a property under construction. She was just out for a walk with her dog. The house was already done; the homeowner was having extra work done. You could be having landscaping done, or maintenance, or anything, and some lazy worker throwing his/her lunch on the ground could cause a problem.

Curious: Were the bones in the street or on someones lawn.

I'm looking at the OP too. She said she was walking past the house. She did not say the dog was on private property. Maybe she will elaborate.

Yeah, good point, CF, most walkers passing my house are in the yard, not on street. |

But most dogs walking past my house are in the street. Only the OP knows.
But the point is well made to keep an eye out for what's on the ground for the safety of your pet. And I would be very ticked if workers on my property were throwing their lunch leavings on my lawn.

[QUOTE=shcisamax;945447]When we first arrived in TV, our entire area was under construction. When I walked the dog, I walked with my eyes on the ground because so many chicken bones were thrown about from the workers who just chuck them instead of putting them back in the bag and taking them with them.
The same thing happened to me. I called the warranty dept and they sent someone to clean it up. It was drawing rats.

We were at our sons condo at the beach and the entire complex was being remodeled. We did not realize he had swallowed the wing nut until we returned home that evening and he seemed to have a bellyache and I rocked him all night like a baby with colic. i was at the vet the next morning as soon as they opened. She xrayed and saw what she thought was a ring. Before trying to remove it she decided to X-ray from another angle where you could see it was a wing nut with a screw in it. She was afraid to let it pass or remove it through the throat as he was very small so she removed it surgically! Very costly snack! He's 8 now and I do not think he has swallowed anything but food since!
