Interesting that dog owners (I was one for many years) repeat over and over again that they cannot control their pets when they stop to use our lawns for a toilet. I wonder how many of them that take their dogs with them into stores, have that same problem. I've owned dogs most of my life and never, ever had one take a dump on someone else's property. Maybe that is why I feel I can criticize the other dog owners for being disrespectful of the property of others? I don't hate dogs. I like them more than people. I spend a sizable amount of money on my lawn and do not want others to use it without my permission. Is there anything wrong with that? Would you want visiting family members of your neighbors playing football, or volleyball on your lawn without asking?

The comparison fails... I don't take my dog for a "walk thru Lowes"...

When dogs are inside, they typically do not "use the facilities" (assuming they are housebroken...)

Are you really comparing "playing football or volleyball" with a dog peeing on a few square inches of your grass?

The comparison is legit. It should be obvious. Trespassing is still Trespassing, just like stealing is still stealing, be it a bicycle or a BMW. Speeding is speeding 5 mph or 50 mph over the limit. Shooting someone with a 22 VS a 45, they can be just as dead as your attempt to justify using your neighbors yard to let your dog sniff and snoop in hopes it will pee and poop.

The analogies are only horrible to you because they demonstrate the hypocrisy of your pathetic attempt to justify your trespassing. You have no right to even one square inch of another's property without prior permission. It is good that you pick up your dogs mess, but it is totally irrelevant to the act of trespassing. It, the picking up after your dog, in no way justifies or minimizes the fact you abused and disrespected your neighbor and their property when you chose to let your dog go there.

Default Take a picture

TAKE A PICTURE. of dog owners not picking up after their dogs. Post it here and on youtube. Same for the dog parks as well. Looking at your phone and not noticing the pile you dog just left is no excuse.

I recently noticed a Dog Owner walking his Dog on a neighborhood corner property. The owner appeared to be not paying any attention to the dog. After the dog pooped the dog owner walked away without picking up the poop. I backed up the car and informed the owner as he was walking away that he did not pick up the dogs poop!! He stated I always pick up the dogs poop!! I stated well you didnt pick it up this time. Pick up your dogs poop. He told me to go XXXX myself. Another day I was driving into my neighbor hood and I noticed the same owner again not picking up after his dog!!

THE VILLAGES is a beautiful place to live!! Our neighbors spend a great deal of money on maintaining their property to keep it looking nice.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG THEN WALK THE DOG ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S!!!!!!!!

I never said I had "the right"... It's just that "sh!t happens"...

Were you the guy who kept the baseball when it accidentally rolled into your yard?

How was your vacation? The other JM was running amuck in your absence.

I certainly am not in favor of anyone allowing their dog to relieve themselves anywhere other than the dog owner's property. But....... don't we have easements at the street that none of us actually OWN? I think those areas are utility easements. I know we home owners don't actually OWN the easement but we are responsible for maintaining that lawn that makes up the easement. Is this semantics? Maybe.

Dog poo and pee only happens in the neighbors yard if you allow it. Be a good neighbor and don't trespass. It is so simple "a caveman could do it".

Also, I never kept any kind of ball. But, Cujo did.

The concept of easements has been use many times to falsely justify trespassing. You own your property and pay taxes on it and maintain it. Only the appropriate utility, safety and law enforcement have the necessary authority to access your property when necessary. Your lawn and garden is like a living carpet that you bought and paid for. No-one has the right to trespass on it.
