You miss the point entirely. Picking up is good but never completely gets it all. The scent remains and draws others. The point is someone entered your property and used it ( not just used it. Dumped sewage on it) without your permission and without giving you the opportunity to refuse. That is utterly disrespectful best. What if they use your car without asking? Your property, is that okay with you?

I agree with you completely. We don’t have a dog at this point and I would never let my dog dirty someone else’s lawn. We are in a new neighborhood and apparently this is acceptable in The Villages.

It is my understanding that the "lot line" defines where your property starts. My front lot line is located about 10 feet from the street pavement. Note, that an easement is different from a right of way. The deed restriction document describes easements for utility companies, such as electric, water, and cable TV. Many of these utilities are not located on the right of way, but they are actually located on the homeowner's property. I have several cable TV cables and junction boxes that are on my property, but not on the right of way because they are inside the lot line. According to the deed restrictions, these utility companies have the right to enter my property to maintain their utilities. There are no easements marked on my property plat.

Yes, we have such contempt for our new neighbors who, when they first met our dog, she proceeded to victimize them and "drop a deuce" just over the property line on their lawn...

We apologized, and immediately cleaned it up, and they said, "Don't worry about it, it's what dogs do. Thanks for picking up after your dog..."

I've never felt such contempt from someone in my life!

Oh, wait... When we get invited over for drinks, they always tell us to "Bring Maggie!", who will immediately hop up in the gentleman's lap. He sits there with a big grin, as she falls asleep, having her belly scratched... The horror of it all...

And those other neighbors, who don't even own dogs, but carry treats for those walking their dogs past their homes.. How dare we let our dog go say hello that those victims! That's trespassing!

From what I've seen, the vast majority do just that. They will carry poop bags and use them. Will SOME people be jerks? Most certainly. Several have proven that theory on this thread...

But just wait... Those who insist they didn't get every single microscopic particle and that will cause them to get some disease when they walk all over their lawn barefoot will be along shortly... Never mind that they water their lawn with pond water that has who knows what chemicals in it...

I wonder if it has something to do with most folks not having a fenced backyard to allow their dogs out, so they must walk them? Any responsible owner will of course pick up.
