I posted a lengthy response in this thread just a few minutes ago, prefacing that I thought this topic was of a political nature and not to be discussed, but it is nowhere to be found. I did not mention any politicians or political parties, just facts that I know about the issue of gun control. What happened to it?

There are 120 guns for every 100 people -- you must have outdated information

Sorry. I don't have room in my fantasies for anything like that.

I attended several Second Amendment rallies when I lived in Minnesota. Minnesota is a permit-to-carry state, not concealed-carry. If you have a permit in Minnesota you can carry openly and many do. One rally, about three years ago, in particular sticks in my memory. It was on the Capitol lawn in St. Paul. About 3,000 attendees and I'd say 2,000 were carrying, many openly. There were several dignitaries in attendance: 2018 was an election year. There was a candidate for Congress, the chairperson of the Minnesota Republican Party, several sitting legislators. There was law enforcement present as well. Five officers in total. Four of them were on the perimeter of the rally facing AWAY from the crowd, on the watch for demonstrators (who never showed up). The fifth, a uniformed St. Paul cop, was with the crowd, chatting with people, looking at exhibits and generally having just as good a time as any of the rest of us. That told me a lot. At least 2,000 armed citizens and the cops were FAR more worried about the folks who were anti-gun. |

I'll agree with you the minute you show me where it says anything about "hunting" in the Constitution...

DC went to "Shall Issue" for their carry permits about 5-6 years ago... But yes, those committing crimes with guns are not carrying legally...

The GUN is not the problem, it is the HOLDER! People can fake any document ie. Covid cards. I believe over 85% of homeowners in TV own a gun. What is the Violent Crime/Home Invasion Rate in TV? Next to nothing! Under 15% chance of success!!! Even the most dumb ass thief is not stupid enough to take those odds!!! Even then Home Invasion is usually contributed to homeowner error, unlocked window/door. Outside the Bubble is a much different issue, all the more reason to carry!!! NY and NJ move to Fl. for no state tax income tax on pensions and to be safer! If Fl. gun laws do not appeal to you do not stay, sell your place, go back and deal with the environment that you chose to try and escape from. TV Armed and strong! We have laws against drugs, but you can get them on any street corner, we have laws against drunk driving, but many do on a daily basis, and often kill people, we have numerous gun laws, that criminals choose to ignore, So why don't we just enforce the laws on the books, and leave the law abiding citizens alone for a change ?
