Default China

Sounds like we would become what China is doing. They use high tech to track people including advanced facial recognition which in addition to drones, every street crossing sign has a camera built in. Are you sure you want to go there? Are you sure you want to try and stop something by NOT actually addressing the root problem…..children getting a hold of guns. How about we start there…the root issue and solve that, instead of putting a bandaid on it.

Feds need to pass a law that all 50 states must have guns in secure lock up if there are minors living in the house. About only 20 states have this law, and apply heavy jail time to parents, if the children get a hold of one of your guns and harms someone. This is the only way to stop children from mass murdering others. They play video games for hours a day that glorify the ease of killing and makes it routine in their minds. That would be another thing to address…no killing video games for minors either. You get exposed to blood and gore, over and over and over, you become emotionally numb by it. Children’s brain are not yet mature to rationalize like adults because their thinking process hasn’t fully developed. Address the access to guns, holding parents responsible and the mental development towards violence and we might just get somewhere,

When suspicious activity is sensed, the drone(s) hover over the suspect. Video the activity, and instantaneously notify the authorities with the sensed activity, video, and the location of the suspected wrong-doing.

Educating the crazies to such a technology, as described above, may even deter them from attempting such a horrific mission in the first place.

What do you think?
Would not have stopped that school shooting. What’s needed is more vigilant school administrators who are not afraid to offend the parents, kids, and will call the police if they suspect anything at all.

...Or we could start raising our kids a bit more responsibly.

Maybe the answer is a bit more of tough love, instead of making excuses for them every time they do something wrong.
Root causes is the answer. Police, drones and video cameras are attempting to fix something AFTER the fact. Better to fix the kids before they go off. Discipline is the answer to most of the problems today.
Five stars!

Don't forget those places with the strictest gun controls which are mostly gun violence free: Chicago & Detroit.

Cause and effect????????????

As far as New York. If, you know the city, you can buy guns on the steps of the 42nd street library. As it is criminal to own a gun in NY only criminals have guns.

For that matter a gun is a simple device. You can buy everything you need at one of the box stores such as Lowes, Home Depo, Walmart etc.

Crime? More reality, it was worse in the 1920s. Beware, that lil grandma may well be LEGALLY carrying.
You forget that those states you mentioned are naturally going to have more shootings, because they have some of the largest population hubs of all the states. More people…bigger numbers. Maybe do your analysis by percentage of the population ratio to make it fair. If you have a state with 100 million people, and another state with 5 million people….naturally the state with more people will have higher numbers of crimes, because of the increase in population. However, if you look at percentages of the population, it would be more accurate comparison.

Default Gun Control

Taking guns away from people who obtained them legally is not the answer. A presentation at the Villages Shooters Club showed that every country that has taken away guns from its citizens has ended up with worse crime. You end up with only the criminals having weapons, not good.

I agree to a large degree. And most parents today still demand their children behave.

HOWEVER, it is not so much school administrators being “AFRAID” to offend. It is school admins not being allowed by the parents to administer the rules and discipline the students anymore. And if the school does try to follow through, chances are the parents will sue.

The parents refused to send the kid home as requested by the admins. When parents expect the school to raise the child and yet handcuff the school’s discipline what do you think will happen?

Parents’ lawyers are now involved in every aspect of public education. Parents have also abandoned discipline at home. THEIR kid doesn’t need punishment bc their kid is special in some way or another. The inmates are now running the asylum.

Those gun laws really work well. Chicago killed 9 just this past weekend. What we need is a different type of person. Guns don't just jump up, run outside and shoot someone. When I was a kid, the schools had gun clubs. I took my shotguns to school whenever we planed to go hunting after class, No one ever got shot.

Please don't turn my Florida into the septic tanks that many of you ran away from.

If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

One, look at the source of your information.

Two, have a look at countries that have placed restrictions of various types of firearms (Australia being one example back in 1996). Significant reductions in violent crimes, firearm suicides and mass shootings.

It’s clear from our statistics that more guns is not the answer. Personally I never feel safe around people with guns, even cops.
