linandvin, I was sad to read your note about all the things you feel are wrong about TV because it sounded as though you were sorry you lived here. I also know that you have been a part of TOTV for many years and I always enjoy your comments and hopefullly my previous note about crime wasn't offensive cause when I reread the note it sounded bratty. Anyway hope all is well.

What makes you say they are negative in every way? Are you referring to the rest of their life? I just don't understand your comment. And I really don't know why criticisms would bother you personally? I see a lot of complaints about various issues, some I feel are warranted, others I could care less about. We all are different, come from different environments and have different expectations.
This is MY home town now. UNFAIR criticisms bother me. I became a frog about a year ago. I feel the ownership and pride of this town.

On the negativity issue...Some people, time after time, even year after year, on this forum, never, ever say anything positive. It is like our parents generation in the thirties, it was somehow wrong to praise. It was only when you were doing something wrong, you heard about it.

It is their personality, the ALWAYS negative folks, and thank heavens there aren't too many of them. They find some kind of satisfaction is pointing out things that are wrong. Somehow there are some people who just miss the whole pleasant thing going on around here.

Too much crime, congestion, squares open to the public, etc.; how can this be a bubble? I'm sorry you are not happy here or maybe you are happy? Oh, and did you not know there was no ocean here?

Let us all remember this origional Thread asks, What one hates about the villages.

The origional poster was trying to see through the bubble long ago.

So it is an educational on going thread for those of us wishing to live in TV, but wanting all the facts up front, I read the entire thread a ways back because my husband was skepticle. I on the other hand see TV as my personal utopia.

I only strongly dislike that I am not living in TV yet.

I totally Agree, and what peeves me off even more is when THEY DON'T EVEN LIVE HERE!!

How about the one a few months ago who was here ON VACATION and rode around looking for violations because she might move here in five years. So, she (or he) posted the address of the home that she/he deemed a mess. EXCUSE ME, if you're still around, I'd like to ask "How's the view from the cheap seats?"

The most annoying part of these "cheap seat dwellers" is that people listen to them. I think that the builder should charge to file these busybody complaints.

Duffysmom...no offense intended. Just some observations. Especially after passing the house that put cardboard over their nameplate and renamed it Mr and Mrs Sinkhole. We are surely in the minority because the Villages works so well for so many people, and that's what it is all about. Being happy where you are. You can't direct the wind but you can adjust the sails. Enjoy your ride.
