I would believe even the State and Health Departments would like to know that also. Add FedEx, UPS and the USPS to those that want it also. It will get here, just not all at once.

I was a buyer, purchasing agent and than director of purchasing for many years.

One would think that you would call the manufacturer and simply ask when will we be getting more shipments of the vaccine ordered on such and such PO number.

Have to believe the vaccine makers have a production schedule and should easily be able to determine when they can ship more.

This seems to be much harder than it should be.

Just saw the news report that the site has been cleared except for a few hand wash stations and a port a potty. Not sure why they would site clear if they were expecting more vaccine.

The buyer is the Federal Government so I assume they have some idea. They then determine the distribution to what State. The State then determines how much to what County. Both the Feds and the States can reallocate as they see fit, then the County can reallocate to the inoculation sites. This is totally a government program on many levels. Private sector is more straightforward.....back in the day I did what you did for a manufacturing company. Wasn't much fun so I moved to sales

You quoted only part of my post which is the last part. You misunderstood what I said when I claim "I will continue to protect others". I don't mean I'm protecting anyone by being vaccinated. I'm only protecting myself with the vaccination. We have been told by the CDC that it is not known if vaccinated people can still transmit the virus to others. Because of this, we are requested to continue to mask and social distance. I will continue to mask and social distance until we are notified by the CDC that it is no longer necessary to do so. That is what I meant that I will continue to protect others.

That is not my understanding. The CDC is requesting that those who have received both shots of the vaccine continue to wear masks and social distance. It is not known if those people who have achieved immunity from the vaccine can still transmit the virus to to others.

Would be nice if the fed govt would actually tell the state govt who can than tell the people who will be administering the vaccines what they will be getting so they can plan accordingly.

Story in the NYTimes today says this info from the CDC is nonsense, that there is almost no chance that people who are fully vax'd can catch and transmit the virus. [shrug]
