This twisted logic is the same that will used by totalitarian governments. For example, should I give up my guns to protect others? No, they are there to protect me. And, it's my decision (and same for each person) as to whether they wish to protect themselves with a vaccine. It's quite obvious that many people are lining up and clamoring for the perceived protection of the vaccine for themselves.

Fauci and others saying that getting the vaccine is some kind of moral decision about how much I care for others is just so much crap. It's simply designed to coerce everyone to get the jab. If you've been vaccinate and IF it provides protection for you ... then great. But, don't continue the lie that you got it for me. Or that what I do with MY BODY is not my decision. I refer anyone who disagrees to the same section of the constitution that gives a woman a right to abort a pregnancy. My right to decide if I want a vaccination is in the same paragraph.

Meanwhile, consider this outcome:

Brighteon

Why don't you contact her and tell her how much you appreciate her protecting you. I'm sure that will brighten her day.

If you want the vaccine, take it. Do NOT tell others what to do. If you get the first shot and have coverage, you should be glad because most cannot get even the first shot. What are you complaining about? Is there any place in the world where the entire population can be inoculated in a few weeks?

Secretary Azar resigned EFFECTIVE JANUARY 20 at 12:00pm. All political appointees of the outgoing administration are expected to resign, effective the day of the inauguration.

LOL, Those who are telling others not to get it are doing it so they have a better chance of getting a shot themselves.

Since you are vaccinated you just lost the ability to say I WILL NOT protect.
Actually, that has yet to be medically and scientifically determined. It has been assumed but not proven.

From Johns Hopkins:

If I get a coronavirus vaccination, do I still have to wear a mask? Physical distance?

Yes. It may take time for everyone who wants a COVID-19 vaccination to get one. A vaccine that is 95% effective means that about 1 out of 20 people who get it may not have protection from getting the illness.
Also, while the vaccine may prevent you from getting sick, it is unknown at this time if you can still carry and transmit the virus to others. That is why, until more is understood about how well the vaccine works, continuing with precautions such as mask-wearing and physical distancing will be important.

It's not clear about those who have codes for 1st shot.

Answer: No. Everyone will need to continue all current recommendations regarding social distancing, wearing a mask, and avoiding travel. This is because up to 10 percent of vaccinated individuals will not be protected from getting Covid-19, and because reinfection, while uncommon, can still occur.

And the vaccine itself doesn't prevent you from contracting the virus. It simply prepares your body to mount a vigorous defense so that if you do become infected, the resulting illness is far less likely to be life-threatening. "

The article goes on to say (paraphrased) that even if we receive both vaccines, that's no guarantee of immunity. Also, we don't have enough data to know how long the vaccine remains effective. The first people to receive the vaccine in clinical trials was in late September, so we won't know until this coming September if the vaccine lasts for a full year.

So, it appears that the vaccine is far less of a magic bullet than many people think that it is. I certainly hope that it works, but with the limited knowledge that "the experts" have on it, it appears to be far from a certainty that this virus is going away any time soon, or that it won't mutate and require annual shots to try to stay one step ahead of it. It would seem that trying to stay healthy and reducing the severity of your comorbidities, if possible, would be a good idea whether you receive the vaccine or not.
From the CDC:
"WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE?
In an ongoing clinical trial, the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine has been shown to prevent COVID-19 following 2 doses given 1 month apart. The duration of protection against COVID-19 is currently unknown."

From Johns Hopkins Medical:
"An effective vaccine will protect a person who receives it by lowering their chances of getting COVID-19 if they encounter the coronavirus. Widespread vaccination for the coronavirus means that the virus will not infect as many people. This will limit spread through communities.

Both Pfizer and Moderna report that their vaccines show approximately 95% efficacy at preventing both mild and severe symptoms of COVID-19. This level of efficacy appears to apply across age groups, racial and ethnic groups, and both sexes, as reported in the Pfizer trial."

Default Perhaps an answer?

I'm not expecting anyone to have the answers. Just venting.
According to the American Society of Health System Pharmacists there is. 54.2% efficacy between the first and second Pfizer vaccine, 95% seven days after the second. As for the.Moderna, 92.1% between dose one and two starting less than 14 days after the first dose. Protection beyond 28 days of a single dose is unknown. Astra Zeneca has yet to be approved but a half dose, which has been discussed, followed by full dose has a 90% efficacy. J & J, when approved, needs only one vaccine and is said to be 98-100% effective depending on age of recipient. This info was updated on 1/8/2021. Has there been studies if the second doses of the first 3 are delayed? Who knows? From what I have read, a four day delay has still given effective immunity. Beyond that?? It would be a shame and a waste to hold back on the second dose and then find that the first dose was a waste. And there lies the problem. I understand that the need is great.

Not a good sign. The tents that were behind Red Lobster that were giving the Covid shots are no longer there.

Right you are.

I DOUBT there is anything "going on". I think that lots of people who previously were anti-vax have come to glory and are wanting theirs right now.

I think that everyone in charge is trying to get the vaccine to all of us as soon as it is humanly possible. I think that is true ALL over the world. I think that lots of people are doing every single thing in their power to make it and check it and box it and refrigerate it and send it and hire people to give us all this shot in the arm.

I think it all comes to those who wait.

Vaccine research varies. Johnson & Johnson's vaccine doesn't use the same RNA technology that Moderna or Pfizer use. It therefore is slightly less effective.
