How do you know this? That is not what was said in the email sent out by GMR for the Moderna vaccine.

Absolutely. This type of vaccine is not new on the horizon. 17 years ago was when this technology was first experimented with (the first SARS virus). I have no doubt or qualms about taking this vaccine. Scientists have new technology to work with these days. I believe in the science too.

How did they not know they didn’t even have enough to complete Saturdays appointments!!?? Funny how that’s not mentioned in the article. Sure hope we are actually put at the top of the list for when they receive more. Then again how can we feel confident that they will get the second dose on time?
I feel those who have received their first shot should be at the top of the list for their second shot. Sorry, but it is only fair that we should get the full efficacy of a vaccine that we were promised had a 94.1 efficacy rate.

Personally, I would rather not have had my first dose at this point and waited for when I would have been guaranteed to have a 2nd dose when it was due, per manufacturers recommendations. I most certainly would have waited for when this roll out was more consistent. Hind sight is 20/20. I feel like I (and others) will come out with the short end of the stick and that is just a very bad feeling I have.

I received text and email, depended on how you told them you wanted to be contacted.

Just spoke to someone in Brevard county. The couple was very concerned about COVID and were able to register in forward thinking Brevard around Christmas for a Jan 15 firm appointment. On Jan 15, they were moved to Jan 26 due to "supply shortage." It's not just GMR.

I have at least 10 family members that have had and survived the virus and I am healthier than all of them. I am not afraid of catching it BUT I will take the vaccination to protect my spouse. Like the mask, I find it ludicrous that some on here insist that others "protect" them, when they should be taking their own precautions to avoid risk, and not depending on others to take care of them. The more folks that survive the virus, the better off the rest will be, in my opinion. The reason for starting with the seniors is because most of this country can survive the virus, even though the older folks have medical conditions that make it more of a danger to them.
Be patient and live longer. Stress weakens you too. Eventually, everyone will have the vaccination available to them.

Both of us received emails last night that they were out of serum but that our place on the waiting list would be safe when they restart. If my spouse gets the shot, I can wait.

Very interesting perspective: Give clarity (and a choice) to the patient!

I've been focusing on the discussion of overall merits of a single shot to more people over two shots to fewer.

Left unsaid: The evaluators are betting on a sufficient supply for second shots to be manufactured "just in time," rather than depending on existing inventory.

Lots of interdependent roulette wheels at play!

Quoting my own post here......

Correction: Unless the moderator deletes the quoted post that contains a post that was deleted, the quoted post will not live on. Get that? LOL!

I never thought this was just a GMR problem. I realize this is a Florida problem.
