When I talk to acquaintances about enjoying steak at Ruth’s a lot of them will respond with Texas Roadhouse. There’s a HUGE difference between TR and Ruth’s to the point that I wouldn’t even call what they serve at TR steak.

Making steaks at home is easy and there are many ways to achieve the perfect steak.
I've lately been hooked onto sous vide, there are many videos on YouTube to show you how to use this method.
Try this site for explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaMtktnlb4A
I've ordered Omaha Steaks, also Porter and York, what I found was you can go to Publix order prime, the size I want at a better price and not have to wait for a delivery.

I buy prime filets from the Colony Plaza Publix. They are under their Greenwise label. They are not always in stock, but you can usually get them a few days per week.

It was several years ago we went to Chop House and we both ordered the filet mignon, our favorite steak. It was so tough we could barely cut it with the steak knife, and even our teeth couldn't get through it. Left it sitting on our plates. Mgr said "sorry" and that was the end of it. In fact, I haven't had a decent Filet anywhere in The Villages compared to what we always had in both CA and TX. Mouth-watering, tender and tasty. I won't bother ordering a steak anywhere here.

They sell the best tenderloins I have ever had. 27$ a pound but well worth it

That is because none of the local restaurants use USDA Prime beef. It makes no sense for a high end steak house to not offer prime beef.

If you don’t mind driving to Ocala, Mark’s Prime Steakhouse has excellent steaks in my experience.

Costco prime steaks are very good. We have a smoker/grill and cooking these ourselves at home is way better than Chop House for sure.

Default Steaks

We had filets on New Year's Eve - from a whole tenderloin from, wait now, Aldi. We've been buying it for several years, and the meat is flavorful and tender. And much more reasonable than $20-$30/pound, or more at a restaurant.

Honestly not where you would think it would be. Best steak (delmonico) is Prima by far. Prime Rib, had to go there didn't you. Mezza Luna is actually the best prime rib here. Problem is getting it at the right temp. It sells out extremely fast.

Chop and the others around here, have low grades of meat, in addition some don't even know how to properly prep and then cook one. That would include the chains outside the bubble. Those are for people with failing or no taste buds.

You can venture up into Ocala and fair better, or even Orlando, but around here you're pretty much stuck with what is and isn't.

Default Ohiobuckeye

Go to a steak house that specializes in steak because if they weren’t good steaks they wouldn’t be in business, so like some people say Chophouse or Texas Roadhouse, if you’re talking about a restaurant!
