My cars windshield has horrible streaks ground into it by the windshield wiper. Changed wiper blades but did not help at night especially in the rain. Asked my detail guy if he can do anything. He said in Florida All insurance companies will replace windshields like this for free and no deductible.
Well after 3 days and 90 minutes on hold Mrs. State Farm calls me and say they will not because it is wear and tear. So I have a call in to her to see if they will even pay after I pay the deductible. (900 Jaguar windscreen). We will se what this ...... says when she gets back to me.
Meanwhile if the answer is no, does anybody no how to get ground in wiper streaks off of windshields. Thanks, Bud

First of all, there is no way to repair the type of windshield damage you are describing. And, the damage you are describing is covered by your comprehensive insurance after applying the deductible, assuming that you have the entire windshield replaced. Some insurance companies will waive the deductible if the windshield can be repaired, but not replaced. This type of repair involves injecting an epoxy to repair a chip or crack. I think your detail guy is incorrect that all insurance companies will waive the deductible when you have a windshield replaced, regardless of how the windshield was damaged. In fact, I doubt that any insurance company will waive the deductible for a replacement windshield.

In FL, insurance companies are required to replace a cracked windshield without a deductible if the driver has comprehensive auto insurance. Cracked being the key word. They won't replace a windshield for streaks.

Speaking of wiper blades I just replaced mine with this brand “motium “ easy and cheap better than original equivalent IMO.

I don't know what year or model Jaguar you're talking about, but 2 years ago, I had the windshield replaced in my 2011 Jaguar XK, for about $325. Not an expensive windshield.

The way Insurance Co's today handle insurance claims and raising
premiums, I would replace that windshield myself without a claim,
and save a claim for something that cost more.
