When I was doing my research on this place, and posting my suspicions on this forum I stepped on many a toe and was called a troll, and really got bashed and flamed and beat up on because I just thought the posters must be working for the developer except those who were working for the competition. You "about to be's" can't be faulted for trying to find out what's wrong with The Villages. Us Frogs know that there are things not perfect, but it is way better than most of us could ever have imagined. And even now some people have accused me of working for the developer. Hear that Mr. Morse? Please send a check.

Should never shoot the messenger. If they are right then they provided
help to The Villager's who rely on information. ![]() |

I'm angry that folks continue to address the messenger and not the message. I've seen this happen much too frequently to many people on this site. Get a life people! You don't live in heaven .... YET.
Perhaps you continue to attack the messengers rather than the messages, because you failed reading comprehension? Perhaps you don't understand that a message/topic is about the MESSAGE/TOPIC ... and NOT about the messenger/poster! YES, I ALWAYS do LOT of research when it comes to major decisions I need to make. And, NOT that it's any of your business, BUT, I have visited TV many times ... and NOT on TV's preview plans. I pay full price to privately rent homes while I'm here. It's my VACATION! And, YES I have visited TV many times and am still not ready to relocate. Again, not that it's your damn business, but a sibling's health has caused delays in me doing lots of things. I need and want to take care of him since he took care of me when my father died when I was only 1 yr and 2 wks old. Having a total of 8 children in our family, no father, he quiit school and went out to work to take care of all of us! Now it's my turn! Yeah, I have many other siblings, but you know how it frequently goes, there's typically lots of people who disappear when problems arise and solutions are left to the few. Now that I've educated all you personal attackers, you can go to he_ _. I hope to hear from people who wish to discuss the TOPIC noted herein. It's about properties holding their value ... and whether or not The Villages developer will support homeowners in maintaining their value! No, I'm not going to quit posting like some others have in the past. I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY OPINION AND I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK!

The messenger comes on, as another poster pointed out, picking apart a landscaping.
This is why when someone posts on TOTV about their landscaping or anything else like this, I ask for a picture. What one person likes another does not. I for one like artificial turf and in some states you get credits for putting it in. I know California is one of them. We are running out of water and so turf is a "green" alternative. The problem with turf, it's it's so perfect, it makes "real sod" pale in comparison. If my neighbor put in turf and I didn't, my lawn would NEVER compare. That being said, my neighbor could get rid of his water bill and his lawn care bill and recoup his money rather quickly while his lawn would always look lovely. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...G8KCtgfT0JXbDA

Well, I can't give you a reading comprehension lesson.

You also don't comprehend. Artificial grass is NOT allowed per deed compliance, which was required in the contract you signed when you purchased your home. Artificial grass is NOT the issue here. Deed compliance and potential property value are the issues. If homeowners aren't forced to comply with the contracts they signed, there is great potential for property values to sink. You see, the purpose of deed compliance and contracts is to insure that properties are maintained in the same fashion as the developer designed for The Villages. If you didn't like the regulations, you shouldn't have purchased a home in a community that has regulations in place. This is potentially my life's savings. You may be able to afford the loss, but I can't.

I'm also under the impression that different parts of the villages have different rules. Is this not true as well?

I'm sorry that you seem to be very angry. You attacked someones property in an open forum and then gave some logic as to why you were not living here and wanted everyone to accept that. You didn't ask the people that had the "messy yard" if maybe that had some reason that things didn't go well for them as far as their yard. I truly love this forum but as the moderator suggested lets attack problems - when needed and not people. I truly am sorry that you seem to be angry and may be having a bad day. I hope it gets better for you soon.

It's clear people want to address why I passed by the home and want question why I posted my initial inquiry here.
It's unfortunate that those who apparently represent, are friends with the developer, and/or perhaps are home sales people, continue to ignore the real issues raised. Well, I explained the purpose of my doing all this. I know my language was clear, for those who can read and understand English. These issues are, or should be, of importance to most of us who are considering a relocation to The Villages. I have the luxury of time to follow this particular deed compliance issue before I decide whether or not to make a purchase. My guess is other interested parties don't have the luxury of time to wait-and-see what happens. I will be following the meeting minutes to see if action is ever taken and if the issue is ever resolved. That is, if they ever update the minutes for District 5. Here it is April, and the last minutes published on-line are from January. And yes, I will again drive by this home before I leave from my vacation, to visually detect if there has been a change. Have a nice day everyone! I'm on my way out to do the same.

Again, I am sorry you have to insult people and question people's abilities to read and understand English. Please have a wonderful day out looking around for your eventual place to retire to. Remember - there are places other than The Villages that have people that can read and understand English really well that may be more suitable for you. |

bestmickey - perhaps readers here [like myself] found your original [and subsequent] posts provocative...and felt that the issue of deed compliance could have been addressed without the specifics such as the address. a post re JUST the issue of deed compliance might have alleviated the attack on the messenger. most of us leave our provocative posts for the political forum! ![]() just my opinion, ya know? here's hoping that you are finding some fun stuff to do while you are here on vacation........
