That's unbelievable. Given what I've heard the maximum wind velocity was in that area, you're right ... faulty installation looks like the culprit. There's no way anyone should have shingle loss like that, with winds that *may* have hit 75 for a second or 2.

Wondering if the storm kicked up a localized microburst that hit your neighborhood? Here is hoping you can get your roof tarped and then fixed before the next rain. Fingers crossed, the next few days look likely to be dry.

The intersection of Lauren and Kiley was flooded this morning. Some shingles off several houses, one guy's exterior garage wall was slanted outward. Awnings down in a few yards. Half the neighborhood had no power. Xfinity internet's been down all day.

Two house on our street in Dunedin don’t have shingles on roof except two rows. Water damage inside due to rain too.

I’m sorry about your loss. That’s terrible. A couple years ago a big pine fell on my daughter’s home in central Georgia, and another flattened a large shed, and a third took out a big brick wall. Her insurance company gave her a large amount for this, and fast, but a fly-by-night crew with a big truck and chainsaws came by, offered to cut up the trees, and charged her far too much, like $30,000. She assumed that was the right price. After getting the roof damage to the house fixed, there was nothing left for replacing the shed or wall.

I drove through The Villages from near 466A and Buena Vista up to Spanish Springs and back Thursday about 11 a.m. 25 miles. I didn’t see any house damage. No shingle damage. There were a lot of palm fronds down and lots of leaves and moss and acorns from trees, of course, but that will be picked up today. There was an unusually tall crêpe myrtle blocking one lane of Morse at Rio Grande. That’s all.

I am not at my house and I have no idea if I incured any damage especially to roof. My neighbors have changed and most are not there. Does anyone know who I could call to have my house checked out? My house is in Buttonwood. Would Community Watch do something like that. Thanks for all replies.
