The most beautiful house in TV to me is the one that I own.

Comparison is the thief of all joy.

I lived on a golf course for 13 years and you give up a lot of privacy doing so, being so near to a sand trap makes for hearing a lot of cussing. It's a nice house but there are many that in my opinion are more beautiful, several of which are on Iron Oak way and the lower end of Observation Trail and they also have a lot more privacy.

Yeah it looks like just another one of the dozens of homes in Stepford. It has no personality of its own, the colors are the same colors that most of the other houses in the neighborhood has. The same bushes are pruned and shaped exactly the same way as the bushes are pruned and shaped in the rest of the neighborhood. The trim looks exactly like the trim on most of the other houses in the neighborhood.

It's pretty. Not impressed.

I don’t see anything special here. Very plain and way too much roof. Have seen others that I would much prefer is money was no object.

3,076 sq. ft. 0.69 acres. 20 years old. (812 sq. ft. In garage.) Estimated selling price $785,000. I’m not sure that there is a second floor—the gable windows that suggest a second floor may actually be connected with a high ceiling in some rooms in the front. (The big triangular windows are over a living room, I think, and the two gaggle windows might be just for decoration.) There aren’t second floor windows on the side or the back. The gables help provide something to look at on one of the higher roofs in The Villages. What makes this house rare in The Villages is both having a built-in RV garage and having garage doors on the side of the house rather than the front. People interested in architectural aesthetics tend to agree that having garage doors on the front of the house isn’t very attractive. But it’s great for providing a handy place for the cars on small lots and narrow lots. Some cities have alleys with unconnected garages, but those aren’t all that attractive. Certainly, if you are buying a large lot and building your own home, it’s good to specify that the garage doors not face the street. However, I doubt that very many people walk down the driveway, turn left, then walk down the line sidewalk to the front door.

Is this the most beautiful home in The Villages? I don’t think so, but tastes differ. It is attractive. The colors are nice. There are houses in that neighbourhood that I like better. When houses here have 2,500 or more square feet, often that is because the indoor space is taking up room that might instead be used for a big birdcage and pool. So this house has an entirely glassed in “lanai” with a big roof over it, but no apparent patio. Many of us like having an outdoor area instead of the extra indoor space, so we wouldn’t choose this house. It has a nice golf course view, but not spectacular.

Does this house scream out “Florida!” No. It could be in a development in Connecticut, or Kansas.

It seems no matter what is posted here, there are always some folks who find it to be upsetting, wrong or in bad taste. This will always be.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, to me the most beautiful house is the one that welcomes me.
I agree. Bigger is not necessarily better.

There are also many just like it in areas surrounding The Villages.

Am I the only one who finds it appalling and obnoxious for some guy to film a home that is owned by someone I assume he does not know, add in his own blathering commentary, post it on YouTube, and then have it thrown to the wolves on TOTV?

His filming has nothing to do with real estate ads, Google, county property records — things we all know we have to expect as a matter of course.

If he knows the owners and asked permission, I apologize — but I don’t think that is what’s going on with this video.

I think he has invaded someone’s privacy to use in some kind of “show” he is doing about TV — and I think that is either a thoughtless or arrogant thing to do.

My guess is that if he has given this any thought at all, he thinks because he is making “nice” comments (unlike some posters here) he thinks it’s OK to declare open season on a random owner’s home.

Unless the owner gave permission, the YouTube video, and this thread, too, need to be taken down.

But I would bet the homeowner knows nothing about this (for now).

I hope the person who is out and about doing this kind of thing will give more thought to his behavior. If he does that and still thinks it’s OK. . .well, then — geez, what a clod.
