I’ve heard that students at the charter schools have to submit proof of a parent’s employment—pay check stub—monthly. Miss bringing it in and they are disenrolled the next day!

Sounds tough, but almost no violations.

Will the original High School on 466 remain open when the new one opens? It seems the need would be there to support 2 schools but the marketing all refers to the Villages Charter High School for the new one.

Are you implying that is bad?

The link in post #4 explains that differently.

Very nice! I didn’t see anything about requiring buyers to work in The Villages. It looks like a Villages for young people with kids. Maybe it’s also for old folks who want to live in a more normal world where not everything is about us. It would be a paradise for young families. (The sad fact is that most schools in the country could be filled with smiling, learning students if they were provided with children eager to learn instead of eager to disrupt learning. Better facilities would soon follow.) Parents would love this school.

I notice that this entire development of many thousands of homes is south of the turnpike. That’s a solid half hour drive by car on Morse from 466 and forty minutes from Spanish Springs. Just as I seldom go that far south, I doubt that many would frequently venture this far north. I saw nothing about their having access to pools and rec centers and golf courses and clubs in The Villages.

I would expect that there would be few if any houses under $400,000, even it there are some two-bedroom houses around 1200 sq ft. This would place it out of reach for most young families. I wonder if the state will require the building of Section 8 housing. I hope not.

The next day sounds pretty harsh. In the interest of the child's educational continuity and friendships (social development), it might be good to give the family a 30 or 60 day grace period to obtain other qualifying employment and to not yank a kid out in May when they would have graduated or finished the year in June.

I think the Developer is less draconian than demanding next day, but that doesn't mean a 30-60 day process isn't initiated the next day, to be realized down the road if other qualifying employment is not obtained.

We know students who attend villages charter schools, the students do not submit parents employment. So no, 8 year old isn’t carrying a stub in their backpack.
Developer is not without computers, every employment is handled internally.
However if parent leaves the employment of TV, or any business on property, that has the privilege of charter school as a perk. The student as of the date of parent resignation, or close of a business, the student is no longer eligible for charter school

If I were a kid now, and knew what I know now, that would be an incredible place to go to high school! The facilities and industry-focused curriculums are amazing. The update video is on the website.

I wonder if home values will go up higher, or be lower, than the age-restricted areas? Over time of course.

I wonder if someone is 30 years old working at Johnny Rockets or Publix, or directly by The Villages and their kid(s) goes to school at The Villages Charter Schools, what happens if they stop working there? Do we have to sell their house and leave? Is there a certain vestment period, do they have to work for The Villages or a 3rd party in The Villages for a certain number of years, like 3, before their kid(s) are "qualified" to attend Villages schools?
Pretty amazing.

Will there be restrictive or free connectivity using these trails between Middleton and the rest of the Villages?
I believe you will find that the multi-modal trails are public access. However, such access is not easily obtained.

EXACTLY! And having good schools, and people who value them, is a good thing.

Homes in Phase 1 will be ready to go on sale next summer 2023.
These will be non-age restricted homes - read: For Families
They plan to have these homes start in the $200's.
