Most of the noise from highways is from tires.

But for a dose of reality------ "“Your home is much more likely to get struck by lightning than swallowed by a sinkhole,” says Nick Gromicko, founder of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. Sinkholes engulf only a few homes a year, out of over 75 million housing units in the U.S. “That means the odds of your home being swallowed by a sinkhole are almost zero,” says Gromicko." |

Unless u only interested in new area and new homesite, expand your search. We rode our bikes on the Hogeye trail and I was amazed at the volume of road noise from the turnpike. Noise that will be 24/7. We take frequent cart rides to new area and note this - (in some price ranges, streets and IMO !) —home lots smaller, home designs n colors pretty much the same.
We live near Spanish Springs/Sumter Landing - Yes the homes are older, but many of our lots are larger. location is awesome for quick commute to restaurants, squares, rec centers, shopping. mature trees, and probably no bond |

I have been down there and checked out some of those home in that are, you should go yourself. The turnpike noise was barely detectable.. Each home site will be different.

As others have suggested, ride to the area without the agent and do some checking on your own, especially at different times of day. If you can hear it now you will hear it then. As buffers are built and barrier plantings mature the sound will muffle some.

I've lived in Fenney 4-1/2 years and the only problem with the prison is people that don't live here saying that it's a problem. The nice thing about it is no one will ever build anything on all those acres that will make noise or add to traffic. I've never heard a peep coming from the prison and the inmates are so non-violent there that they had to send Whitey Bolger to W. Va to enlist someone to take him out. The prison makes for a good neighbor and no one has ever escaped from it.

Thank all of you again for your info! It’s very funny that I developed a cutting-edge acoustics simulation tool in the world, but I have to deal with the airborne noise again in my coming retirement life

Mulberry is nice and quiet, but it's on the northern border, and like almost everywhere around here it's not immune to development. They almost put high rise apartments next to the shopping center a little while ago. And nothing to say expansion won't occur on the other side of 42.

All of citrus grove is really close to the turnpike. That’s where the new bridge is going to go, over the turnpike.

Older homes offer no noise pollution at all. I mean NONE. We are in Mallory Square and it is very quiet all the time.
