I don't see where anyone objected to dogs being walked in the neighborhood. All the concern, to me, is dogs being allowed to walk on others' lawns and/or relieve themselves thereupon. We have many dogs in our neighborhood who are walked on the street and it takes a long time to do this as people always come out to see the dogs. The owners don't count. It's just the dogs we want to see!!
Oh good grief!!!
Don't you ever walk? Dont any of you ever take walks in your neighborhood?? I don't walk in circles in my backyard. My dog does her business in the backyard. WE go for walks. WE both walk. I have never taken a walk without my dog. I will continue to walk in my neighborhood. My neighbors are all very friendly. They walk their dogs as well.

There are so many things here in TV that you could complain about and maybe "fix". This situation will NEVER change. If you are physically able to walk your dog, your gonna do it.....to walk!! Not to potty them!

It isn't gonna change folks. The Villages is a dog friendly community. It will always be a dog friendly community.
As those of us who walk our dogs are not going to stop and we cannot and will not guarantee it won't happen on someone's lawn, if it really really really such a big upset, go somewhere else. Otherwise, realize that there will always be things that are annoying to different people and one either gets over it or they just remain miserable about it.

This particular situation is not going to change so figure out if you are going to spend your life miserable about something that is out of your control or focus on things that make you happy.
Like Shcisamax, I say I won't get sucked in again to these ridiculous threads, where everyone simply repeats what they've said over and over and over in the last 30 dog poop threads.
The Villages allows two dogs per household. It's time that people realize The Bubble is a dog-friendly community.
Unfortunately The Villages didn't provide enough dog parks, which would go a long way toward alleviating the dog walking problem.
Most dog owners have their dogs pee and poop before leaving their property and then they pick it up.
However it's ridiculous to suggest that a dog owner should exercise their dog by walking in circles in their back yard.

You have no standing to charge a person in this area with trespassing.
People can ignore your complaints, so why bother?
I don't think an easement is for walking dogs.
I also don't think it's illegal for someone to step off the hot pavement onto your easement to avoid traffic or to prevent their dog's paws from getting burned. Carl in Tampa has explained these people are not trespassing.
We take our dogs daily to DDRR, the private dog park, and we're happy to pay for this privilege.

140 posts. Most of us are just venting, and not really expecting anything to get resolved.

Like I said, just an honest question. Because in the many pages of posts, I have read several that imply dogs should only be allowed on their own yards, dog parks, etc. Sounded to me several times like some folks didn't want the dogs walking the neighborhood streets at all. I just wanted some clarification.

I think it's silly that those of you who think that it's okay to walk your dog on other people's lawns are saying that those that don't want you there don't even want you walking in the neighborhood. Big difference between you walking your dog down the sidewalk or down the edge of the street compared to letting your dog on a retractable leash come to 3, 6 or 8 feet into my yard to do his business.

And it happens, folks. A lot. Like I said, I have a dog and we love him to death and he's very spoiled. But he does not step one paw on anyone else's property.

I guess the threads mainly are just for people to vent. But I'm amazed at the number of people who think it's okay to let your dog poop and pee on someone else's lawn. I guess that we are all wired differently and what I think is appalling behavior, other people think is their right or entitlement.

I know I am making a generalization here, but I would suspect that most of the posters that are commenting about dogs peeing in their yards are not pet owners.

I am a dog owner. If a dog owner takes their dog to another person's yard for the expressed purpose of relieving themselves, this is totally wrong and deplorable. Enough said.

I utilize the dog parks quite often. However, I also take my dog for a walks/runs. As others have posted, the summertime the streets are very hot and can burn the pads of a dog. To prevent this I will try to walk the dog early in the mornings or late afternoons. I try to make sure she takes care of all of her business before we leave. I suspect other dog walkers do the same. We do not have sidewalks in my neighborhood so we must walk in the street. Walking to the mail center along a busy street can be quite hazardous and we frequently have to walk into yards to avoid being hit by golf carts. She is not running 10 to 12 feet into someone's yard. We are right on the edge. On rare occasions, my dog has relieved herself in someone's yard. If it is poo, I will pick it up. Pee there is not much you can do about. I guess if you have a bottle of water one could poor in in the same place to dilute the urine. I am (and most other posters) a responsible pet owners. If you want to come out and yell at me, then so be it.

For the record dogs are welcome in my lawn as long as there is a responsible owner at the other end of the leash.

I keep reading about rats in TV. I assume that you are referring to rodents and not humans. Is your rat problem due to palm trees; that is, are they palm rats or another form of rat? How common are rats in TV? I hope we don't encounter any.

Lots of rats in the Villages. I see them all the time when I'm on the cart path on Buena Vista. We have a lot of open space in the Villages.
