Default Perfect Village?

I am a full time resident living in Buttonwood, and I am curious about your opinion. What Village is in the perfect location and why?

While I agree that all of the Villages are great, if I had my choice I would live somewhere in the vicinity of Lake Sumter Landing. Only because it is so centrally located.

Default location.

I heard once that Duval (hmmm or was it Largo?) is the middle of TV. Is that true? I would guess that it is true the perfect location is the one you pick.

I remember speaking to someone who lived in Chatham who thought hers was the best because it was not as busy on the road etc...she did admit that she was from a rural area before TV....then my Realtor said he first moved to Chatham and hated it cause he loved the busyness of LSL so he moved to Virginia Trace....matter of perspective!!!!

Being close to the squares seems advantages when you don't yet live here. BUT...

after a while your square attendance drops some...at least for a LOT of folks. Simply because if you go to the squares every night, you will miss the parties, get togethers, card games, potlucks, wine tasting, drinking and laughing on someone's lanai...that happens in the evenings about six months after you move here.

So...where you are IS the best place.

I love where we live now, and I loved when we lived in Hadley and don't ask me to choose the best neighbors. BOTH!

We are building in Gilchrist which is south of 466A and I think we're going to love it there. I agree with Billlaur that the perfect one is the one that you pick although nothing in this world is really "perfect".

I agree with the others too.

However, the general area you chose sometimes may be important if you have a special passion for a particular activity. For example: bowling, pick near Spanish Springs; clay court tennis, pick near Glenbrook or Lopez; want more aggressive (and usually younger) sports participants, pick south of 466A; tree'd neighborhoods and golf courses, pick north of 466; don't like train whistles, avoid the north west side; etc. Living nearby sure beats schlepping 15 miles back and forth daily to your favorite specialized activity.

For us personally, we've been in 3 different villages and each was/is the best.

Wherever you are is the best village.

I prefer halfway between SS and LSL. Just have to take the car to Brownwood.

I may be wrong but to be near shopping, rec centers, doctors or favorite activity is the best village but then what do I know, I am still a wannabee.

You are such a nice person, and would be such a great and happy villager. I am about to break all of my rules and plant St. Joseph in my yard, so your house will sell and you can move here.

St. Joseph and his family have been my friends for a good while, AND Sister Mary Michael Timothy Basil Catherine said that kind of stuff was superstitious and that was bad...so I never planted him in any of our moves.

But I am willing to plant a statue in our yard if it would help YOU move here 2B.

How about halfway between LSL and Brownwood? Bring on St. James or Tamarind Grove....the best of both worlds!

BTW, the airport van driver said Publix and Macy's soon to come around Brownwood....and lots of other new stores. He said there is a bidding war between Wal-Mart and Cosco for land.

That's the area I've picked for a rental to see if it is the correct place.

How about those of you who have moved at least twice within TV, letting us know WHY you moved to and from the places you've chosen (without offending the neighbors, of course!). Gracie's next after Jim.

You have to plant St. Joseph on the lot the house you want to sell sits on. He must face out. I planted my statue that I got in Fourth Grade for selling Holy Child Christmas Seals on a house I inherited from my Mother, but he did not help, when I finally sold the house, I could not find him to dig up. There are small statues just for buring. Will try it here in Maryland.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I may plant another Saint Joseph just to make sure.

Joe
