Yes, I find it irritating when a group of people treat the neighborhood pool as their private venue. I do like to have fun but not at the inconvenience of others. Perhaps there might be a way to rent out a pool for special gatherings? Or when you want to play personal but unwelcome music?

The rules clearly state no organized events at the neighborhood pools however they do not state that music cannot be played.

But, if new needs that were unforeseen arise, perhaps we can add an amendment? My impression is the rules are not quite like the Ten Commandments... for all eternity.

I recall at one point last year, there was a brass ensemble that practiced in the Southside pool rec building, in front of the window facing the pool. IIRC the window was slid open, so that everyone could hear the music. It was terrific!

But it was also not a daily thing, and it didn't go on for hours and hours. It was a scheduled rehearsal, or possibly a scheduled performance.

If I didn't like that kind of music, or wanted to read in quiet, I certainly would've gone to another pool.

But if I had to go to another pool every time I tried to take a relaxing dip in a social environment, just because one person decided to be a total POS about "ma freedumz" I'd grow pretty tired of it.

I don't recall every seeing or reading about any amendments to the regulations/rules. They would just get those on the other side of the fence aggravated so I don't see that happening.

Assuming property owners wanted to change the official rules;

Does anyone have a clue about the process through which the official rules can be amended?

What do you base this one? "There are probably" does not make it so. I go to that pool quite often and I don't recall ever hearing a complaint about the music. I would think that in all the years of going there that someone else would have complained.

And I stated earlier, when the OP complained, the guy turned the volume down.

You would need a 2/3 majority from both the house and senate followed up by 100% county commissioner approval. That is the easy way.

Not fair that the puppets get to vote on this.
