The chairs are hot; the neighborhood pools are for cooling off. If you want to actually swim, go to any regional rec center's sports pool. Each pool has one of three purposes--family/children, neighborhood adult, and sports.

Thanks for venting; seeing as you did, please allow me. Let's ALL follow the rules and that means everyone in the pool MUST be 30 years or older. I'm sick of owners having their grandkids visit and taking them to the pool. Use the rec center pools and follow the rules. Same applies to your lawn decorations; just follow the rules YOU agreed to when you bought. SIMPLE!

I've never seen a child in an adult pool. If you do, go into the rec center and ask them to deal with it.

per community watch team member: your noodles are fine. some even use 2 'tied' together to form a chair-type thing. (the community watch guy recommends zip-ties, they work better.)

It's my understanding that floats that you lay on aren't allowed because a swimmer could get trapped underneath....especially in family pools. Noodles pretty much keep your feet visible. Drinks and food aren't allowed on the pool deck either, yet there are those that get upset with that rule. I guess, as others have stated, if you don't like the rules, build your own pool.

Default Like most resort/hotel pools; but you are entitled to vent

I agree with your frustration but also understand the need for the rule. And it’s been the rule at most of resort /hotel pools I have been to. You can’t have a bunch of rafts floating around bumping into each other. But as empty as most of the pools are, it should be one of those rules that are made to be broken. If you are the only one at the pool, just float until the pool police come around checking id’s. I do kind of giggle at the outrage on here over your outrage. I say, vent on…. Isn’t that what we do on here?

Just another old cranky Villager that feels he/she is so privileged that rules should not apply to him/her.

I thought there were pools specifically for exercise. any way I want to know what the limits are for floatation devices
we have two giant pools you can use in florida that allow flotation devises they are the atlantic and the gulf -- have fun

Just one point to the rule followers, someone made the rule in the first place so who are they to say what is right or wrong. They can always be changed. I never go to these pools so don’t care.

I was completely surprised when one of my friends was annoyed when her grandchildren were not allowed to use the large floaties she bought for them. It just seems so simple to me.

When there are rules, follow them, unless you the one making the rules.

To remind those who do not live here; We have almost a hundred lovely pools here in The Villages for residents. They are all kept to 83 degrees except in the hot summer when the sun makes them warmer. There are some that all guests even iddy biddy's can use (always with an adult) and some that are ONLY for residents and guests over thirty. Sports Pools, a third catagory are ONLY for residents, no guests allowed.

People have commandeered a pool from time to time in order to teach a fitness class, but that is NOT allowed. Folks have played loud music on their device from time to time and that has been noted on this Forum several times.

During the past year, many, many, many people have decided to put in their own pool and there is a very long wait for them now due to this unusual and high interest...and lack of gunnite, so pools are much a source of interest and conversation.

you must be a newbie. Newbies think they can change the rules to their liking and complain about the ones that are in place. There are reasons for the rules that are put in place here. With so many people living here, there must be structure or there would be chaos. It has been working fine here, don't rock the boat, newbie.

I am far from stupid. The main reasons I had a pool installed was for privacy and swimming in the evening. Actually, I do not use a raft I know how to float. When we have children visiting they can use rafts and toys which are not allowed in the TV pools.

I'd be careful about statements judging anyones "stupidity" in the same sentence where you state you believe $15K will get you a private pool in The Villages....just sayin.
