So I actually do walk my dog around the front yard so she can poop and it can be cleaned up. And I can also throw the poop away in my trashcan versus having to carry it on a walk. But honestly, is it that big of a deal if the dog poops in your yard and they pick it up and haul it away. And if it is that big of a deal, why did you buy in a pet friendly neighborhood?
For what it’s worth, there’s a lot of great pet owners, and The Villages. And there are some that are not good pet owners, and do not clean up after their pet. But honestly, I wouldn’t be bitching about people who clean up after their pet I’d be bitching about those who don’t clean up after their pet.
And isn’t it nice if this is your biggest problem you have to deal with🤣🤣🤣
I'm sorry... Being reasonable has no place on ToTV...

Labs are the smartest dog in the world. I always had Labs, you teach them something, they know it for life

so they can do their pooping. A reasonable request to dog owners!! Take your dog outside and walk your dog around your yard, front yard, back yard, side yard where ever you like on your property until the dog poops. After the dog is done pooping make sure you pick up the poop and then take your dog for a walk on your block. Recently i noticed a owner who lives in the village of ashland on haretison ave walk his medium to large dog several houses down his block and make a turn onto crawford court walk several houses down and now his dog is pooping on my neighbors lawn. I mean really don't you feel bad your walking your dog and your dog is pooping on other peoples property. Why not allow your dog to poop on your next door neighbors lawn or the people that live accross the street from you. Please don't walk your dog 2 blocks away from your house and allow your dog to poop on someone elses lawn. We the homeowners, your neighbors who live in the villages pay to maintain our lawns. Watering, cutting, fertilzing, etc. Etc. Just like you do. We really don't want your dog pooping on our lawns. This message goes out to all dog owners.
Like i said earlier walk your dog on your property to do it's pooping!!!!
Not your neighbors lawn!!! Thank you in advance.

enough about dog poop. There is way too much time on this subject. If you see someone allowing thier dog to go and not pick it up is truly wrong.say something to them.i guess because anything of importance is never posted . Everything is censored . Hence the incredible time allowded for poop stories.

Ok, to summarize the replies from many of the above posts:
Dog owners purposely allow their dogs to relieve themselves on their neighbors lawns because they have no respect for their neighbors.
Most dog owners pick up after their dogs, therefore it's OK that they tresspass upon their neighbor's property for purposes of having their pets relieve themselves, without asking permission of the owners of such property.
Those that do not want dogs relieving themselves upon their property, hate dogs.
Owners of dogs cannot learn to control their dogs, therefore make excuses that their dogs are dumb and can't control their bowels.
Dog owners believe it is their right to use their neighbor's property without consent, for any purpose they wish.
The property owners that do not wish dogs upon their lawns, are evil dog haters and have no right to prohibit dogs from using their lawns as their lavatory.
Question:
If a dog relieves itself in a business/store and the owner of the animal picks up after it, does that make it OK?
If a business prohibits pets from it's property, is that OK but it's not OK for a neighbor to do the same?

Your dog, your property. My lawn, my right to place any pesticides/poisons on it as necessary to keep nuisances at bay.

EVERY MORNING I MAKE THE ROUNDS ON MY CART AND SEE DOZENS WITH DOGS AND THE DOGGIE POOP BAGS. WHERE'S THE PROBLEM IF IT IS CLEANED UP. YOU SOUND LIKE THE VILLAGE IDIOT WHO ATTACKED MY WIFE AND DOG WHILE SHE WAS OUT WALKING MY SERVICE DOG (VIETNAM VET). YOU SCREAMED VULGAR LANGUAGE AT HER WITH MUCH SALIVA GOING INTO HER FACE THEN WHEN SHE STOOD THERE AND DID NOT RUN LIKE YOU HAVE DONE TO OTHERS YOU TURNED AND KICKED THE MEDIUM SIZE DOG THROUGH THE AIR. CAUSING LIMP AND BLOODY STOOLS. THAT DOG HAS NEVER POOPED IN YOUR YARD! If they don't pick up then rant, otherwise accept that rains and sprinklers will delute any residues away. Try being a decent person in a village we share.

Having a service dog gives you NO right for it to be on anyone else’s property besides your own. And based on your reply and the ability to “make the rounds” on your golf cart every morning, I’m not buying the service dog line.

O boy! Another dog thread. Why not just done search and you see the same opinions? Maybe the villages should start building dog free areas fenced in like the next door prison? Call it gated community with lights razor wire.

What really PO's me is smokers throwing their filtered cigarette butts in my lawn as the mowers don't pick it up and it ends up in pieces on my freshly mowed lawn. In closing, be glad you don't have Canada Geese hanging around your yard as they make a huge mess and they don't pick it up.

His grass probably got bugs, the kind that eat grass roots.

Probably most new post topic on TOTVs. It needs it own topic section?

What you allow in your yard is your business. Just because another dog owner is more tolerant, does not mean that someone else MUST be of same mind when it comes to health and sanitation. Some of us mow our own lawns and do not wish to step on a neighbor's dog's residue and then track into our home.
Some dog owners will never understand, just like some folks that do not like or tolerate cats will never understand those that do. Anyone that assumes that it is ok for them to allow their dogs to relieve themselves on someone else's property, are irresponsible and selfish.
I wonder what a dog owner would think if I was to use my smart phone remote control of my sprinkler system to suddenly come on when they are in my yard. Would that be unreasonable? After all, it IS my property.
I love animals, but my property is my castle and I do not tolerate inconsiderate neighbors that believe they can drive on my lawn or walk their dogs on it. I use chemicals on my lawn and landscaping and I do not wish to harm animals. It is not my responsibility to "protect" or notify my dog owner neighbors when I treat my lawn. Believe me, I have had a neighbor request that I tell them when I treat my lawn so that they would not allow their dog to use my yard. I hope that my lack of response along with my incredulous look was sufficient.
Like I said before, I love animals but I do not believe that it is asking too much for other folks to respect a neighbor's property. If signs were allowed here, I would post a warning.
I see signs in about ever village I enter.

apples to oranges. Cats don’t bark, dogs don’t kill hundreds of song birds in their life time, dogs don’t get let out to prowl and go where the want, don’t see owner of cats following them around picking up after them. To people that own house cats the never prowl you are the responsible cats owners just like responsible dog owners.
