I do not appreciate the tone of your post. However, I guess you are in good stead with the admins so you can go unchallenged.
Sorry about that !!! I do think unchallenged is the key word here !!! Tone would be the second......

Downeaster

I also did not appreciate Fumers post. When he said he
"Was not buying what you said" he was accusing you of "Fabricating"
what you said. When I wrote a post calling what he said about your
post something stronger than fabricating my post was taken down
and I got a note from the admin about how I should be more civil.

It seems some people are in better stead than others

You have to make a RIGHT turn or bear to the right to get out of the left lane.

"rab" that is great......if everyone uses rab, a great deal of band width will be saved.

Watch out for the ACRONYM police!! They don't like some of these abreviations.

Question Confused

When it is legal to make a right turn from the left lane there is always going to be confusion. In other countries you can only exit a roundabout from the right lane.

Yes, I understand that BUT, you do not have to change lanes to exit. The "changing lanes" is what I was addressing in my previous post.

Absolutely...but the fact is, you do not change lanes. Stay in the inside lane to exit the roundabout or stay in the right lane to exit the roundabout. Do not change lanes...right???

Folks are talking about making a right turn when exiting from the left lane as if this is not legal. Actually...the road curves to the right and you are forced to follow the road in a "rightwardly" direction. (I don't think that's a real word but you get my gist).

A few of our roundabouts have been re-striped with yellow lines that attempt to funnel autos into one lane inside the circle. Of those that I recall, one is on Buena Vista at a road towards Sumter Landing and another is on Canal, also leading towards LSL. I personally feel that is the most sensible way to avoid confusion and conflicting opinions about which lane is to be used to continue through or exit.
What are others' opinions on this approach?

It doesn't get any better than someone posting something, it doesn't matter what, about the traffic circles or roundabouts. The responses evolve into a life of their own soon followed by sarcasm followed by hurt feelings followed by, well, you know what. It never fails.

Best rule of thumb is to use COMMON SENSE, watch out for others, and get on with it.
