Just think if this was a big disappointment how many other things would have been bitched about.

no internet access in the lsv villa? oy! such an inconvenience! now, getting lost on a cart path is my idea of inconvenience - except that ya get to meet so many nice villagers when ya pull out 'the map'!

just maybe the lsv is designed that way to encourage lsv'ers to get out and about to explore all that the villages has to offer rather than remain house bound to internet access?

I am so sorry about your experience. I truly am. I agree with you that in today’s world people NEED to know about this as a part of the booking of a room. Easy access to the internet to way too important to folks today to not be notified in advance. I too will make an effort to remind folks about this but to be honest so many folks book it before they even talk to me since it is a different department. I your case I forgot you made your living off the internet and likely needed easier access. I apologize on my part and I will learn from this.
I will copy your message and send it to the correct folks to see if they can FORCE our bookers to inform people about NOT having internet. Your efforts in writing this message won’t be in vain.
Again I am sorry about this. I hope you got home safe and are now rested and plugged back into the good life. Be well and take care.

Hi,

With the exception of having to drive over to a recreation center to answer emails, the trip was nice and informative. For some people the idea of not having access to the internet may not be a big problem. For many, many others it is unacceptable.

If we did not have a friend with us to we would have locked the doors and went to the Waterfront Hotel. Our friend and collogue, Dr. Damon lost total interest in buying a home. His thoughts were that if they can not provide something as simply as internet, what else would they skimp on.

Here was a man that could've taken out his checkbook and purchased a home on the spot.

Me and Brenda are still interested in the Villages, but think you might do one of three things.

First, offer free internet.

Second option, offer internet at an additional charge. Many large hotels do this.

The very lease make certain that people renting from you know upfront that if they need the interenet they must leave their home or Vila and drive to a different location.

I'm actually speachless.

Seriously doubt if a salesman wrote that. I think his friend and COLLOGUE helped. Still has a few grammar mistakes.

The OP made a valid suggestion, and one I support: that LSL advertisements and related literature should simply state that LSL properties do not have internet access. Wifi access is available at our regional Rec centers and various establishments at our town squares.

I thought that we as a TOTV group informally agreed not to personally attack posters, even if a poster cannot spell, observe the rules of proper grammar, or states opinions that rub folks the wrong way.

It is clear that most responders to the initial post (myself included) deem that the position taken by the OP's friend (and even some of the OP's comments in support of that position) landed, at best, at the intersection of absurd and ridiculous. I am not sure, however, that expressing such a position warrants personal attacks.

Seriously? The Lifestyle visit is one of the best deals around. A beautiful fully furnished villa with a golf cart and bicycle for less than the price of most hotel rooms. I have never known the Villages to skimp on anything!

I SO agree! It's gotten to the point I'm reluctant to post anything for fear of ridicule! NOT the purpose of TOTV! If you are that bored go play golf, or pickle ball or whatever! Rudeness seems to prevail on here lately!

Default Decision based on lack of Internet???

I can understand that it may be inconvenient not to have Internet for the LSV, as I am one who has to access it multiple times a day for business. However, why would you base weather you want to live here on that? Surely, when you purchase your own home you would have Internet service so that would not even be an issue. I believe the reason they do not provide Internet is because when people come here on a LSV, they are cramming many, many activities in in a short time period and most people don't spend their time on line. There is so much to do here. I would think that people who are here trying to figure out if they want to put down roots would be checking the Internet once or maybe twice day, which would be a perfect opportunity to go the the various places that offer wifi. Sorry you based you decision not to live here on the lack of Internet. You have no idea what you are missing......

Don't know. You would have to ask the OP.
