Although single lane roundabouts are probably the safest and they move rather quickly, they only work if they are fed by single lane roads feeding the roundabout. Won't work with two lanes on BV and Morse.

Where I moved from, we had two RBs that were single lanes that were fed from two lanes. It worked very well, even during rush hour.

I don't buy it, unless there were low traffic volumes even during rush hour. You simply can't funnel two busy lanes of traffic into a single lane without delays...and conflict.

I know intuitively it doesn't make sense. But I lived it. It does work better than you might think.

Sorry, outlaw, I mean no disrespect. If there is very little traffic in the approaching streets, it could work. But if two lane streets are operating anywhere near their capacity, and they are then funneled down into a single lane, delays and conflicts are the result. The laws of physics (and traffic) demand it.

You can't put 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound bag.

Where I'm from, single lanes work. You don't worry about anyone on the inside lane cutting you off.!!!

What was the traffic count? Lot of factors when you say they worked that you haven't shared. I have driven through the same arrangement in NJ over the years, which is why most were removed.

Reducing round-a-bouts to one lane is going to create the predictable, a rush by drivers to be first enter this one lane creating a greater hazard. round-a-bouts are the cats pajamas and so easily manipulated. clearly and generally speaking people concerned about round-a-bouts are same sort of people concerned about on/off ramps, three way stops, going through the villages gates etc

Comparable traffic as BV north of 466.
