While riding my bike today, my wife and I were passed by a speed racer going over the chitty chatty bridge. You know the bright colored dressed bikers who just want to go fast. He passed us, flew by whispering out of my way, and then about 2 miles down the path, we stopped to see him lying on the ground and being helped to his feet by the people whose car he ran into. 911 was called and there was a good dent in the backside of the car, hopefully he was okay.

While crossing the Lily bridge there was a biker in front of us crossing over the highway, a golf car crossed the solid line to pass all of us just before a corner. The biker shouted something and we proceeded on. Once into the Brownwood parking lot, the biker proceeded to chase the golf car down as he was going to the gas station. We did not stay for the conversation. But it wasn't going to be pleasant.

While resting at the Eisenhower Rec. Center, there was a women painting the door so the side door was being used. A woman came hurrying in carrying a bucket and a pilates ball and decided to hit the automatic door opener. The door opened and hit the painter in the head. And the women scurried into the side door.

All of this happened in one morning, and we figured out that the snowbirds had returned. Please be warned to watch out for the faster paced snowbirds. They need to decompress and adjust to the pace down here before more injuries occur. You have been warned, they may also need an attitude adjustment, please give them time to re-adjust.
I get really tired of all the snowbird bashing and blaming that goes on. Why would snowbirds be faster paced? I am retired as are most snowbirds and I am an expert at doing nothing slowly. While you guys are suffering the extreme Florida summer heat or running from air conditioner to air conditioner, we snowbirds are enjoying taking it easy outdoors with balmy weather and refreshing breezes. I think the non-snowbirds are just jealous because we have the best of both worlds! It's not us who need your suggested attitude adjustment.

Basically it gets way worse as weather colds down in rust belt don’t it.

I can go into about every village and spot some snowbird houses not all but more than few. The weeds are taller than the bushes and some approach the roof line, tell tell sign.

He wasn’t talking about snowbird way I read it. Majority of snowbirds haven’t flown south yet.

Looks like you have started posting in 2021, and hoped that you have learned not all issues are caused by those who choose to own more than one home, can come and go as often as they like, keep our economy running, Pay higher taxes, without taking up full time space.

But to blame snowbirds, for your issue just proves, you have more to learn.

You missed it.

Nice to know that prejudice is not dead. Instead of the snowbirds wearing a sign, why doesn’t the bigot wear an embroidered “B” on his/her chest so we can beware?

Wow, one of the most ignorant quote of the week. MrFlorida must think the sun only shines in Florida!!!!!! While you're inside all summer, we're outside up north, in the sun, COMFORTABLY!

If you moved to The Villages to be in a hurry, you might have moved to the wrong place.

Its not just Snowbirds, its residents in general.

Yesterday at the grocery store I was in the checkout line, and holding two cold drinks in my hand and one other item, so I stand in line for the cashier because I had cash and the self checkouts were card only--and there were a couple people in front of me, and the lady right in front of me had just a few items and she put her items on the conveyor belt, and I took one of the item separators, placed it on the belt after her items and set my drinks down. She then said to me in a very snotty voice "If you're in that big of a hurry, just go ahead of me" and walked around to stand about 5 ft behind me. I looked at her and I said excuse me? and she said "I don't like it when someone crowds me, I got to have at least 5 ft of personal space." I told her I wasn't trying to crowd her I just wanted to set my drinks down cause they were cold, and I stepped back and I said "Knock yourself out."
She looked back and said "Knock YOURself out. I got to have space around me."

The Villages is supposed to be the friendliest Hometown, well I don't think so-- sometime in the last 10 years or so it's gotten the rudest most belligerent types of people I have met in a long time-- not since I lived in New York.

- a line dancer on the way to a rec center
- anything that has the word "free" attached

People who keep saying that the Northern end of the villages is an area of older people. Do you think original and secondary owners live forever? In my neighborhood, and most of the adjoining neighborhoods in the Spanish Springs area, is comprised of many, if not most villagers in their 50s and 60s. The original owners and the second owners have sold or passed away. People in the southern sections make assumptions. You know what that makes you?

What I have seen in many areas, not just the Villages, is that many off them area arrogant and think they own the road. Many times they ride 2 abreast and block off traffic from passing, this is why some off them get hit by cars.
