If the policy of the store is not displayed it cannot be enforced by anyone. Were there signs?. If another customer tries to enforce them in a manner that is so rude they can be ask to leave and trespassed. In the future you might want to ask for a manager if you are treated poorly by anyone in the store.

Don’t let the actions of a few ruin your day.
She sounds like a very afraid lady and needed to vent. Unfortunately it was you.
I would have told her where she could go. I’m that kind of person.
People like her need to be told or they keep doing it to others.

you can only expect a grunt from a pig.I think I would have had to respond in some way, I admire your self control.

Yes, she was rude...but, remember: Walk a mile in her shoes....well...don't do that exactly. We don't need another cranky person out there.

You should have put your stuff back in your basket and then touched all of her stuff that was still on the belt.

Your response was very admirable. Well done. Killing the crotchedy old bags with kindness is the best policy, although sometimes a snarky remark back is fun. Perhaps something like, "You will be ok maam. I don't think anyone wants to get close to you with that attitude."

Remember the security guard shot to death yesterday for asking a person to put a mask on before entering the store. The customer’s family and friends felt she was disrespected and killed him. Never know what unhinged idiots might be carrying a gun nowadays. Sometimes better not to challenge someone unless it’s a life and death matter.

Folks are pretty up tight... and for a good reason. You should have just given her the finger.

Default Let it go.

Avoiding people like that for your mental health is not weakness. It’s wisdom

Yes .. there are people who don't realize that the main purpose of the mask is to prevent a "sneeze cloud" from spreading and additionally as a reminder to keep one's hands off the face.

We should remember that a lot of people are under stress and may over-react. We need to have compassion for the crazy people out there. They are destroying their own immune system ... make sure we don't over-react to them and damage our own with worry.

Yeah, all the social distancing mandates have given the “Karens” and other hall monitors much ammunition to interfere into other’s lives.
