Aldis has tape at the register line. You are not supposed to put your things on the belt until the person in front of you has paid. I was politely told this by the Aldi employee running the register.

A grouchy attitude is the first sign of dementia. Feel sorry for her.

Let me guess. Was she old and white? Pay her no attention. She complains about everything.

A nice big sign at every register may convey the message better if Aldi wants the checkout process to be done that way.

I think that depends on what the pointing is for and about.

It’s stressful time for everyone out there. Should she have been less rude??? yes. However you never know the things that someone else is going thru. Maybe she just loss her father to the virus, and is beside herself with grief. 😓

No, the proper way is to maintain distance. Place the separator bar on the belt, then start to unload your groceries. We all want to be in and out as quickly as possible.

Some people are just rude and living in fear and apparently she falls into that category! Enjoy shopping with your daughter.

OMG! If people get that upset about getting out and grocery shopping maybe they should stay home!!!! I have never seen so many rude people who think they can tell everyone else what to do and how to shop. Apparently they don’t know they virus can live on plastic surfaces fir at least 4 hours. When she gets home she opens that plastic container does she wash her hands before touching her food? Probably not. Wearing gloves continuously cross contaminating everything for herself and everyone else. Do they rude people think of that no! Just themselves. The ones wearing the mask driving a car. The accident waiting to happen. Oh, don’t forget the millions of people driving around with the handicap tag dangling from the rearview mirror that clearly says. Important: remove before driving vehicle. Those are the one in the grocery trying to tell u to follow the rules and going to kill someone or ur family member not following the rules of the road. Which is more dangerous than putting you food on a grocery belt.

Try to ensure you cover your nose with the mask if you wear one. I see people wearing masks just below the nose - this is counter productive to what the mask/face covering is supposed to do.Yea - I know - it fogs up my glasses too!

Putting someone in their place (as someone suggested) does not promote peace or kindness. Don’t let someone else’s rudeness rob you of your peace or cause you to become unkind. In this situation you did the right thing by trying to accommodate and/or avoid. Anything else is just giving up your own peace and will do little to change the culprit anyway. Sounds like you were a good example for your daughter.
