Hotrodgirl, what a great idea, Operation Homebound! I just had a birthday last week, but who is counting anymore. I wish we could join in the celebration for January, but we will be back in upstate NY by then the snow just started flying here about 6 PM and they are predicting 1-2" per hour until tomorrow afternoon. I think tomorrow will be a good day to take Xmas deco down. Looking forward to next week.

A-4 and the crew are taxiing for takeoff.
That sonic you hear later will be us coming in for a landing.

A very informal dinner will be provided along with drinks and a good time! Please let me know if you plan to attend or if you have a Jan Birthday. NO presents, please. However, donations will be accepted for Operation Homebound which feeds homebound Villagers here. Details to follow!

Hi Both,

That is a great idea and new tradition to start for the Gilly neighbourhood.

We will be there and the donation idea is a very laudable one also.

What about letting the host each month pick the local charitable activity in the greater Villages area for us all to support, then we spread our help accross our wider neighbourhood and to needy friends, young and old, we may not have met yet.

The individual charitable donation needs to be confidential, maybe a sealed envelope, that way those that may be of more limited financial means can still attend and not feel pressured to overstretch themselves month after month

Another fine example of what a fabulous neighbourhood this is turning out to be.

Ooooh, here's the Hotrod duo trying to raise the standard of the neighbourhood and here is A4 zooming in threatening to lower it.

Keep a grip of him Cathy and let us know what help you need.

Once the arrival date had been announced, we have been in discussions with the Mayor at the regular neighbourhood emergency meetings about authorised restraint techniques that do not cause (long term) physical damage, just in case.

We have even developed a new one that allows the technique to be used against someone holding a Corona bottle without breaking it, to save the contents being spilled and wasted!!

[QUOTE=Lpierleo;599671]To all our TOTV friends on this forum,
Sorry our Best Wishes for a wonderful holiday are a bit late. Now that Christmas Day has come and gone, we are hoping everyone had a joyous holiday wherever you are.
Unfortunately, my mother was again admitted to the hospital on the 24th in the middle of the night. Very, very weak.
However, we have had some very joyous moments too. Our son came home from Denver. I knew he was coming home for Xmas, but he surprised me by coming home Thursday for my birthday several days earlier than expected. His room wasn't ready as I have been using it for gifts, Florida packing, etc., but he didn't care. It is great to have him home for a week! Although he is out visiting friends more than he has been home. He just relocated in Septembet so he still has many friends here.
We also had a wonderful dinner with my sister and her family last night. We have an 18 month old grand-niece that is so full of life and wonder, she is just a joy to be with.

Right now the forecast shows 10 to 18" of snow possible starting Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon.

A4 and Jimbo, wishing you safe travels to TV.
At this point, Rich and I are still planning to fly down for New Years. Have a few contractors lined up a couple days for warranty work and solar tubes installed. Looking forward to meeting those which are there now.

All the best, Rich and Linda[/QUOTE

Linda--
So sorry to hear about your mom--I know how tough it is when they are sick around the holidays! Hopefully it will be a short stay. Glad that you had a nice Christmas with your son and family. Can't beleive that it's here and gone already-still battling a horrible Ohio cold and so with all the medicine I've been taking I've been in a fog--need some sun and soon!! Look forward to seeing you guys next week-travel safe!!

Carol:

Both Ann Marie and I are born in January (16 & 19) but unfortunately won't be down to TV until Feb. 5th.

Hope you and Jill have a good time.

We, of course, will be there. Operation Homebound is a wonderful cause.
