Default What Model Home do you have and why do you like it?

So many models to choose from whether new or resale.
What did you pick out and why?
Pool or no pool?
View or facing your neighbors lanai?

Our thoughts. Liked the Lantana model we saw but at 2100sf not enough square feet. Told the Ivy is the same layout with an extra bedroom (2600sf).

Augusta and St Charles are nice.

Visited a model Lantana in Saniblel loaded for 330K. 1st thought was where do I sign. Then told the pool and lanai for 100K more, OK. Summer kitchen 25K more, OK. Now we are at $455,000, OK. Still ready to sign.

OUCH, the golf lot added 200K so now $655,000, Not OK for 2100sf.

Is 200k typical for a golv lot?

A couple months ago, there was an open house at the Augusta, a premier model. Isn't that the one that is like a huge Lantana? Loved it.

A regular Lantana is not a premier. Were they quoting $200K for a Lantana on a lot in the premier section? What were the lot dimensions? Some golf course lots are on the small side, 70 x 110, but they are designers.

Have you looked in Miona Shores? I've heard of some good buys there lately.

I have read on TOTV that $100K lot for golf view and pool were available a year ago. Need to have your agent check it out for you.

We hope to buy a lot for a Lantana in April. We just want a corner lot.
We live on a golf course and not getting a $1 more when we sell. So a golf course view is not in our future...

Good luck!

The Lantana model was in Bonifay I believe. We saw it with a Villages sales rep.
Don't know how big the lot was but all of the homes were the Designer series.
Villages pricing is def. different than Orlando.

No you don't get as much for your money in a home as you do there, but if you don't like it here the resale is easy and that is not like Orlando where homes sales aren't as good.

But oh the fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, we have here.

We are fortunate to be in Baldwin Park a neo traditional neighborhood with its own village type shopping, restaurants, banks, Publix, CVS, walking and riding trails in walking distance patterned after Celebration only larger and in a much better location.

Only 23 homes for sale so not overly worried and we should recoup what we have in less maybe the realtor fees. The oldest home here was built in 2003.

Don't have many people in their 50's and up and those that are are still working. Do get 300 kids at Halloween which is fun but won't miss.

Shopping and restaurants and things to do don't even come close to TV.

We had thought about going to 1 house in Harbor Springs, MI then getting out in the winter.

Guess that won't happen so we plan to live in the Villages 9 months and back to MI in the summer.

I had reservations about the Villages and my wife was very skeptical before visiting.

Now I have to slow her down as she is ready to pack and start the TV lifestyle yesterday and I'm right there too.

We are leaning towards the Seabrook and St Charles model which comes standard with the golf cart garage. I saw an Escalade Street Legal cart and that for me or maybe the Hummer. Are there speed limits on carts?

Thanks for all of the info people have given.

Default Chatham model in Miona Shores

We love our home and neighborhood. It was a resale which barely had been lived in. However, the previous owners had put in shutters, fancy closet systems, and extensive landscaping. The Chatham has a separate living room which I like so I can go off and read without the TV. The master closet is HUGE. One friend with a Chatham uses part of her closet as her office! We were going to build a Bridgeport model in Pennecamp. We are so glad we didn't. Our neighborhood is beyond wonderful. We were welcomed with open arms. The neighborhood is constantly coming up with ways for us to do things together. Since it only has 148 homes, there is real real feeling of community. We like the central location which makes it easy to go north or south of 466. Golfing is a snap. We have our own website. If we want to golf on a certain day, we just sign up and everything is taken care of.
