We had neighbors that we called "loud talkers". Eventually our problem was solved when they enclosed their lanai.

I remember we had a similar problem in our home up north with some loud neighbors in the house next door. Our son had a record with a number of
different sound effects. One night he hooked it up to the window upstairs without us knowing and he play a "freight train" going by. We lived 20 miles from any tracks and he also played the sound effect of a 747 airplane flying about 5 feet over the houses. All the lights went on next door and we never had loud neighbors again.. ![]() |

maybe revisit some of the conversations with her after these gatherings like ask some question about what you heard and she will realize you can hear what is being said and maybe just maybe she might lower her voice if she knows you are listening to the conversations. Just a thought...
The houses are close together...

When I hear of these neighborly issues, I feel so fortunate for having the neighbors we have. Best of luck!

In this morning's paper there was a headline entitled something like.."Before you complain to a neighbor, get to know him".
And although I didn't read the article, it made me think of this problem. It is always to your advantage to get along with the people living around you. It makes your life more comfortable and pleasant and even safer.. If you would ignore this behavior for awhile and share some good experiences, maybe going out to dinner or sharing a dessert or something like that, they would become more aware of you as people and you would do the same. and maybe, even, you would end of with them on one of your porches talking loud and laughing.

Go ask to borrow something and find out more about her. Maybe, she knows something that is really funny and cannot contain herself. I had a New Jersey roommate at the University of Denver and he was very quiet at least when compared to the others I had while I was there who were from N.D., Chicago, and some other place I cannot seem to remember. |
