If I'm not mistaken, that was pretty much their whole defense.

I've heard that many times, but I've never seen any numbers to back it up. Do you know where that statement comes from?

I don't see a problem either way. I don't think that he'l last very long in prison anyway. A needle in the arm might be more humane.

China, Iran, North Korea, Yemen, and the USA had the highest number of prisoners executed in 2012. The USA is the only G7 country to execute prisoners.

That sure puts the USA in with some great company, doesn't it?

Life without parole would have better punishment. Just imagine spending 50 years without space to walk around or to see the sky. Now, that is punishment.

Yes I would throw the switch. Plus if they had a RAFFLE I would by a ticket to do it maybe a few. [ the money to the injured and surviving] I think they would get millions

I think the death penalty should be carried out as quickly as possible. He has his legal rights for appeals, etc. The appeal process should be conducted without any delays. If he loses his appeals then carry out the sentence.
In my opinion the longer he stays on death row the more terror groups will use his case to recruit others to follow suit.

not only could I pull the switch, I would. a more perfect solution would be to blow his legs off and throw him in the gutter. An eye for an eye.....

I could not kill anyone unless they tried to harm those I love and am here to protect..... But I keep seeing in my mind the pictures of all those people who were maimed and that little boy who was a Villagers grandson who died there, and his little sister lost her leg.

I believe that he was old enough to know right from wrong and no one, not even my parents could have talked me into doing something like that at his age. But I was taught the ten commandments early on.

I remember when I posted my thoughts on this forum on the day it happened, that many made excuses for the reason they did it. I think most of us know the reason they did it.

We are in a scary world right now.

Exclamation Totally Respect

I totally respect those that can and would pull the switch. I guess if it was close to me I would pull the switch. My Grandfather was Sheriff of a county in New York at the turn of the century and in those days the sheriff had to go to and witness the execution if the person had been from their county. In one case he had to take his next door neighbor to the Chair in Sing Sing and witness the execution. My Grandfather's view of this was , "he killed someone so he had to be killed". That was the thinking in those days.

This is a fair question. It goes directly to the point of it is the worst thing in the world to kill another human, but these terrorist are not humans they are rabid animals, and there is only one way to deal with them, put them out of there misery.

Killing the terrorist makes him a martyr, but giving him life in prison would make him a living hero to the rabid animals.
