I'm not sure about Obama and BBQ ribs, but I do know that his wife loves them. She certainly stuffed her face with them when they made their stop in Ashville, NC. Of course, I know Jews that eat pork spare ribs too.

Actually, they are supposed to have originated in Turkey. Turkey considers itself to be Eastern Europe, not Middle Eastern. But, one person's Arab is another person's Turk, I guess. Most of the stuff I had in Turkey was called "Kabab" and was a bit different because of the lack of the "shish" part, I guess. I have to say that they had the best bread I have ever had, and I have traveled a bit of the world. But, I digress....sorry.

They are made with lamb meat. Pig meat is barbecue and they dont eat pig meat. The jews that eat pig meat isnt really of the jewish religion but just of the jewish race.

Agree in most cases. However, I know of Jews that go to synagogue and still love BBQ pork spare ribs. I realize that this is not the norm.

You're right, Turkey is considered Eastern Europe and kabobs moved on from there. But the point is Turkey is 98% Muslim, hence the fallacy that they don't eat barbecue. BTW, the best kabobs for barbecuing (grilling I found out from my Memphis neighbor) are from Fresh Market.

Yes, you are correct. Turkey is predominantly Muslim. Just pointing out a little trivia, since I spent a few years there. Not trying to criticize you. I picked up some long flat skewers from Armenia that resemble swords in size, for my BBQ. I've been smoking ribs and roasts and haven't had a chance yet to try them out yet. There I go, digressing. I better be careful or someone is going to think that I am a liberal, always trying to divert from the subject...

Good question. I believe someone said Obama couldn't be Muslim because he enjoys BBQ. Of course, smoked brisket is dynamite BBQ if done right, and a Muslim would probably die for it.. I wonder if they would still be awarded a few virgins if they went that way?

I didn't want to bring that up, but I believe you are right. I do not think he is interested in females at all. But, I thought that I was the only one that seemed to notice that he seems to be attracted more to males. Maybe that is why the Mrs. treats him more like a brother than a lover in public. She knows. But, I have to be careful or a liberal will say that I "hate" him. That is their catch all response when they have no logical answer or defense for the worst past six years in American history.
