Earth's heat. You have the narrative ... I have the data. For example, this Chester County, PA graph shows how NOAA systematically alters temperature data - by cooling and past and warming the present - and like magic - we have a global warming crisis. Notice the max temps are trending down - because the global "data" shows global warming is slowing down.

Pinatubo COOLED the Earth for 2 years by .9 degree F. Which is no big deal. Tonga produced water vapor. Pinatubo produced black ash. Tonga warmed the Earth, but I did not read anything about how much.
.......One could assume that since both eruptions were about the same size that they would have about equal effect on the earth temperatures.
Therefore, the effect of Tonga would be equally SMALL.

1. You didn't read much about Tonga, because the media refuses to talk about it, because its "water vapor" is causing the 2023-2024 warming spike -- and heaven forbid the public hears that water vapor is causing global warming -- because water vapor is the monster greenhouse gas.

2. Assumptions are fun to make, but again, data trumps those too. First - Tonga is causing about 0.8 C (or 1.4 degree F) warming, and is expected to very slowly cool because the water vapor was sent much higher into the stratosphere than Pinatubo's ash. The stratosphere is very stable and the water vapor will linger for years. Second - Pinatubo's ash is very different than Tonga's water vapor. Ash is not only heavier, but it was lower in the atmosphere - and thus fell out faster. The water vapor is still spreading globally (vertically and horizontally).

3. All this and much more will be discussed Aug 15 at 1 PM at Bridgeport.

I get a large GIGGLE when I fail to see the parallel between Worldwide temperature increases caused by greater populations in 1st world countries causing more industrial and vehicle pollution.
