Shirleevee and Red; Thanks for updating me on the upcoming tour status. I guess I missed that announcement. Good for Naima. She hooks up with the right producer I think she could have a good career.

Kate; I agree with you, although I think Casey has something to offer that's different, and he has a way of surprising the listener with quirky vocal runs that makes you smile.

This is the first year I really don't have an odds on favorite I think should be the winner. Usually I've picked one by now. It's not for lack of talent because this has got to be one of the most talented groups ever. The evidence is in the group performances on the results show that have been surprisingly good as compared to past years when they mainly had to rely on lip syncing.

I thought there was something special about Naima Adedapo. I know she wasn't going to be the winner, but I would have sent both Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald home before her.

No one gets knocked out of the tour!!

At the end of the show last week, RS made that very clear.
Idol producers had the foresight to make the tour of 11 people if some one was saved.

My son who watched a recorded version last week was not aware cause the recording cut before that little tidbit.

My Directv recording did not cutoff.

My wife and I enjoy Idol but we cannot watch it live. Need to FF thru commercials

Thought Scottie and Lauren were great last night, especially Lauren...
I vote on line and didn't vote fore the bottom three, but I did vote the most for Casey this week and last.

Just FYI for those you watch American Idol.....Lauren goes to the high school that's across the street from our house! She's quite the hometown hero lately. We're hoping she continues to do well. Who knows, maybe that will help sell our house when we put it on the market! LOL

You may be right Richie but the point of AI is to look for THE next talent. There are a lot of choral groups that are great but they are looking for solo talent. Doesn't have to be the winner (think Daughtry) but group performance is not much indication of a successful solo artist. I predict that the most successful person this year will be the deep voiced country singer. A CW voice like his is hard to find. But I don't think he'll win AI this year.

I just meant their group sing alongs are an indication of the depth of talent, this year. Also Scotty and Lauren's duet was beautiful. One of Lauren's best efforts in my book.

I not going to disagree about Scotty. He's definitely headed for stardom. Maybe the only sure thing on Idol.

I think the winner is going to be James Durbin or Pia Toscano, and they won't have surefire mega successful careers after Idol careers, in my opinion.

I have no doubt that Scotty will be the most successful of the current Idol singers - with the right producers and management, he is the next George Strait. He can't win American Idol, but I think he'll be the most successful. And I don't really like country music. Every time I hear that beautiful low voice coming from that young kid, I'm totally impressed.

I wouldn't count Scotty out of the running. Country music is bigger than ever and he just might be in the right place at the right time.

I like Scotty as welll. However, I'm not sure of his success in the country field. It seems as if country music has moved away from that "classic" style of country music. I'm not sure how large the fan base of this type of country music is.

I agree with the style comment but I think his voice can be used effectively in many CW songs. I agree with Richie about the duet he sang. CW producers will be lining up.

His voice is very similar to Josh Turner who is very successful - Try this - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nADTbWQof7Y[/ame]

Well this was an interesting week. I can't believe the judges outrage on the viewers vote ousting Pia Toscano. Very unprofessional conduct and a slap in the face to the top 8. What "no talent" slob did they feel should be the next to go?

Pia is an very good singer, but in my view, not very unique. I'm sure she has a career ahead of her, but her style wasn't singularly dynamic, in my opinion.

If the viewers vote had sent someone else home, I could have lived with that and that's how the judges should have reacted. They actually insulted us, if you think about it.

It amazed me that the judges didn't "get" it. Jalo (how do you spell that?)tells her she needs to learn how to move on stage (very, very true) and then is angry when she's sent home. HUH??? To me, it was very much between Pia and Stefano. They never really connected in my mind. That Jacob was in the bottom three surprised. I really thought his performance was pretty darn close to great. Loved Scotty's Elvis.

This group is exceptional in my mind. Once Stefano goes (soon, I hope), fans are going to be hard-pressed to send someone home. If I had to predict, it will Stefano leaving next week; then Paul, Jacob, Lauren and Casey. Right now, my vote goes to Scotty for the top spot but James will always have a special spot in my heart.

I still like AI, but there are two problems with the show that may end up being its downfall. One is the judges, who aren't doing anyone, audience or contestants, any favors. Fawning over every contestant just doesn't cut it . I'll say it again, they need another Simon Cowell (but I have to admit that Tyler and J-Lo are a lot more interesting than Ellen or Kara ever were). The second problem is that fact that the majority of voters are young girls, who tend to vote for the "cute guys" which is a big disadvantage to the female contestants. Pia was the fifth girl in a row eliminated this season. It will take an awful lot of talent to overcome the built in bias of the young girl voters.

Cool

What a shocker! But, I didn't vote, so I can't complain... It's really easy to vote via the net, so there's really no excuse for not voting, I guess

James is still my favorite, although I don't think he can win Idol. I want him to make it to the finale, because Steven Tyler said he would do a duet with him on that show. That would be entertaining!

You can bet I'll be voting from here on out!

At the beginning of last night's show, as Ryan Seacrest said the results would be shocking, I got a feeling that Pia was the one that would be sent home. To find Jacob in the bottom three was another surprise.

I hope that Pia will still find a way to become a star like Jennifer Hudson did.

Bad News -The American public has spoken and I don't agree that Pia should have been the one to go. I am very disappointed in the voting.

Good news - This will save me a lot of television viewing time as I have lost confidence the most talented person will win.

I will tune into the final show show to see if Jacob is still a contestant.

It's just my opinion.

You have to consider all the factors in a successful performer. Talent is a big one, I'll grant you that. Just as important is charisma. You either have that or you don't. There are plenty of successful performers who parlay their charisma into successful careers with little actual singing talent. Last show's guest star Iggy Pop is a great example.
