Default Phil Philips....great

Is anyone watching American Idol tonight? Once again, Phil Philips slams it home. This guy just blows me away. I would go see him in concert any day! He is a handsome dude and is off the charts vocally. He still has my vote to win it all!

Erica was much, much better than the two guys who survived.

Default Wrong vote off

They got it wrong last night. Heejun should have gone home. I think next week either Heejun or Deandre' will go home. These are still a talented group of kids.

We all should be prepared for what always happens: older (espec female) contestants are voted off first because the majority of voting viewers are young females who vote for young guys and young gals, with the early round nods going to the guys. It is a popularity contest at this point not a singing contest. Hopefully the most talented person will eventually win but until these early rounds are done, anybody can go but especially older females. Elise is awesome but she's vulnerable because she looks older and has a bluesy style so she won't get the younger vote. I personally think Jessica is the best but I also love Philip and Colton followed by Elise, Hollie, and Joshua. My bottom three are , Heejun, Skylar and Deandre.

I see Deandre, Heejun, and perhaps Hollie in the bottom three with probably Deandre leaving tonight. Heejun is probably still protected by the Asian block of voters.

Joshua and Skylar also seem vulnerable. Really liked Elise and Phillip Phillips last night.

This is a hard one tonight because all the contestants excelled last night.

I think Hollie is the vulnerable one tonight. I don't have anything but a hunch.

Wonder what happened with Hollie Wednesday night. I have thought she was second best of the girls the last few weeks. Guess she got overconfident.

That was a close call for her.

She has a great voice, but for whatever reason she's not connecting. The judges say she's not connecting to the song she's singing. I guess that could be it. I know I'm not blown away by her. I wasn't blown away by Skylar either, but she's the only country girl, and that'll take her a bit further.

A little surprised by the result. I thought, like you, Heejun had another safe week in him, but this was the right result.

I have to agree, the correct choice was made with Heejun leaving. I have to stay faithful to my home state girl Skylar but I believe the top 5 is as far as she will go. I believe the winner will either be Phillip Phillips or Jessica Sanchez

That sounds right to me. At this point I would put Colton in the Top 3 with them. i think he's very talented, and combined with his looks, will continue to get the attention of Idol voters.

Default Idol

Our household of two thought it was time to say goodbuy to Deandre (sp?) last night as well. No tear shed to see Heejun go.

We are big Philip fans ever since his first audition when the judges asked him to sing a song with his guitar.

Elise had her best night by far.

Also didn't think Hollie or Skylar belonged in the bottom three.

i would have put Deandre in the bottom three before Skylar. I think he's a good singer, but his style is not my cup of tea. There hasn't been a great falsetto since Frankie Valli in his prime.

Holly doesn't move me, is the only way I can explain it. Jessica has such a rich quality to her voice and her phrasing is impeccable, and she's incredibly only 16 years old. What an amazing natural talent.

If I were a betting man I would put my wager on Phillip Phillips. Genuine and tremendously talented.
