From the pictures I did not see any external side view mirrors. Get them as well as seat & shoulder belts.

This accident, again proves that when a golf cart ties with a car--the golf cart always loses.
That's an excellent point. I see many people driving golf carts without decent mirrors. I also see a lot of people who never seem to look in their mirrors. You should be checking your mirrors constantly whether in a car, on a bicycle or in a golf cart.

I'm fortunate the car I drive has several warning systems if someone is in my blind spots & it WILL stop it self if any object or person is in front of it & it reacts faster than I can.

I don't think that additional speed limit signs would have helped and obviously this demonstrates that seat belts are not the be all and end all.

My advice is that when driving your golf cart you want to avoid turning into the path of an oncoming car. This poor gentleman mike the unfortunate fellow who died on Morse last year seem to have made the same mistake. No signs or lanes would have prevented either of these tragedies.

It is my understanding that in both cases, the drivers of the vehicles that struck the golf carts had no chance. The golf cart driver in both cases simply made a horrendous error which turned out to be fatal.

The families, survivor and driver of the other vehicle are in my prayers.
Very good post

This is another post that should be printed and framed.

Well said, Jim.

It is a sad life event for this family and the community is affected in one manner or another.

Set belts, side stripping on the pathways speed limits etc all go to reduce the chance of loss but risk can never be totally eliminated in our lives cart drivers I have had carts do u turns in my path but for the grace of God....

Coming from MVP this AM I heard tires screeching and looked. A cart missed the front end (fender to hinge pillar) of a SUV by inches. The SUV was pulling from the parking lot into the path of the cart

Yesterday I was golfing Pimlico. I carry my bag and as I got close to the path my feet slipped on the slick mud. I caught my balance pretty easily but I think that's because I skied quite a bit and ice skated and have been in that "I might be going down now" mode many times before.

But just like that I could have gone down and hit the back of my head on the cart path. Three months ago I learned "don't jump in the air if you sink a long putt because you might pull a calf muscle".

I wish this place came with a handbook named "Potential Health Hazards That You Never Even Dreamed of 10 Years Ago".
