We all know that 90 degrees in Fl. is WAY hotter than 90 degrees in TN. or North Carolina. There is this LITTLE thing called HUMIDITY.

SHHH... You'll only confuse him...

Summers in the DC area are "Hazy, Hot and Humid", typically 90's in July and August... Pretty much the same as in TV...

BTW, it snowed in the DC area last night... How was your evening?

You've obviously never been to DC in the summer... Nor Charleston, SC, The Outer Banks, NC, or Nashville... Nor hundreds of other cities...

Humidity isn't only limited to FL...

You seem to be so miserable, living in TV...

May I suggest a move to NC, maybe the "Research Triangle"... I hear the weather is much better and the cost of living is lower...

We are here year-round and completely happy. No hotter than NJ and we have our own pool. Jump in anytime day or night. Everything is air conditioned. Easier to get a res at the better restaurants life is great!

Lived in Tn, Az, Oregon, Pa, Ca., Kansas, and Nebraska. Also besides humidity, Fl. is closer to the Equator than say Tn. and believe me I could tell the difference. Felt much hotter at the same temperature in the sun of Fl. The sun IS more intense. Actually, I have been to Nashville and it can feel HOT in the summer. The feeling of HEAT can also be affected by altitude and also population density.

Home still shows "for sale" and not "pending" on The Villages VLS site. It's been almost a week since signing the paperwork. Only a few days since the inspection.
What could be going on? Any ideas?
Question, Did you sign a Contract to purchase or a offer??? Once a Offer is accepted then you have maybe a couple of days to have a house inspection. Then you need to sign a contract to purchase. If you did not sign a Contract to purchase the house will remain for sale until you sign a contract. You need to talk with your sales rep and clarify whats going on? Now if you did sign a contract pending a contingency then if someone comes along and offfers the asking price or more then you offered with no contingencies then you could lose the house.

Not exactly. Typically, when you make an offer and it is accepted, you have a contract to purchase, with one of more contingencies. The contract is usually signed before the inspection is made. But, you cannot lose the house to another buyer as long as you have a signed contract to purchase the house, contingencies or not.

Not true at all. I lived in GA for 10 years before moving to FL. Same temps in summer, but GA was far worse due to humidity. Florida, being a peninsula, has a constant air stream moving across it at nearly all times. This serves to lower the humidity. GA (and states like TN, NC) are constrained on all sides by other land, reducing the amount of air movement they get (not counting the coast itself). This results in much higher humidity.

I lived it and experienced it.
