I will have a friend house-sit for me later this year. While we will all be together for some of the time, our friend will eventually be alone (when we leave for our trip back to VA) Can she play golf or use the pool with another permanent resident in our absence, or does her pass tie her to us? Appreciate your input.

Assuming your guest is an adult, she doesn't have to be accompanied by a resident to enjoy the guest privileges at the pools or rec centers.

For golf, I do believe they can play by "signing up" on their own and not have to be accompanied by you or any other resident. Signing up on their own may be limited to calling/visiting a starter shack the day of play to grab an open spot. Another resident can book ahead for your guest along with themselves to play golf. The other resident would book them as "their guest" even though your guest's ID is tied to your residence...still not a problem. To the golf starters, a guest is a guest.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the executive courses are a residents privilege meaning they must setup a guests reservation. The resident doesn't have to play by I don't think a guest can showup and play without a resident setting it up.Now a guest can play the championship course anytime. Depending on how long your guest is going to be without you it might be worth your wild to get them a temporary resident ID for $50. IMHO!

Bosox...I wasn't real sure about the guest playing on their own. Just found the following on golfthevillages.com ..... it doesn't say they can't play on their own.

Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties are eligible to use selected

• A Villages Guest ID Card is required for all guests 10 years
of age or older. They can be obtained at any of the Regional
Recreation Centers. Please call 750-6084 or 751-7110 for questions
regarding guest passes.
• Be sure to tell your guest to always carry their valid photo ID
along with their Villages Guest ID Card.

As far as the $50 temporary resident ID, to be clear (and you may already know this), it would require the resident (who says she will be gone much of the time) turn in her resident id/privileges for that period of time. Fora guest who plans to golf a lot, it might be more cost effective than paying guest fees.

As far as the maximum period for which an adult (over 19) guest pass can be issued... I haven't come across anything in writing.

Believe this is incorrect. There are many times when a resident does not play golf and a guest does. You can request a tee time for your guest, but you must have your resident ID # and your PIN # to do so - or you could give this info to your guest and have them use either the online system or the telephone system. On the phone, it asks, "Will you be one of the golfers?" Go from there.

You're basically saying the same thing I said! The only thing a guest
can't do is show up at the starters shack without a residents ID being used to setup their round of golf.This only pertains to the executive courses.Anyone can play the championship courses!

Sorry, Bosox, guess I just didn't read your post thoroughly. You got it right the first time. Although, I think that if a guest shows up without their host and has their guest pass and ID at a starter shack, they'd be welcome to pay guest greens fees and cart fees, if applicable, and use any open teetimes. Are you sure they can't do this?

It's 30 days maximum at a time, renewable indefinitely.

It is a total of 30 days in a calendar year, it can be split up in several visits but cannot exceed a total of 30 days
If you have a guest ID you can play alone for a small fee..........

Fumar... I believe the 30 day calendar year limit only applies to underage guests. "Adult" guests are not under the same restriction...as Homeball says, you can get guest passes for 30 days at a time and renew as needed for adults.

On the guest golfing question, I asked the starter at Pimlico today. She said a guest can walk up on their own and golf, for a fee, but needs to have the resident's ID # so they can enter it into the system. Not saying you would get the same answer from every starter, but that's what one said.
