Will one of the pools be a sports pool?

If you look at the photos 2planeguy took, you can see that the prison land runs from 470 down 501 and does indeed back to Fenny property with a small group of trees in between. The lights and towers can clearly be seen thru the trees when you drive down 501 and at night its lite up. I haven't been in Fenny at night but I can only imagine.

The quarry is next to the prison and also fronts 470.

Thats how I saw it in those fantastic photos that were taken.

See 2plane put up one of his photos.......befor I could finish my thoughts....there ya go

They have yet to start building that far down on 501 and I'm going to guess there will be a rather larger buffer, possibly one of the golf courses between their land and TV homes. Most of you know that up north penitentiaries and prisons were build in populated areas and still exist.

You'll be able to wave to Whitey Bulger from the tee box on the 4th hole.

Personally I would not mind residing in a pleasant community a bit more than a stone's throw from felons locked behind prison walls. It's felons nearby who are not behind bars that concern me.

I finally got to see Fenney. We stopped at the Rec Center which is next door to the Grill and went into the Grill for lunch. It was packed and had people waiting and the wait time was 45 minutes. We decided to go over and browse through the Rec Center which (I think) is very different from any other, but really really nice. I loved the fact that there are so many sitting areas, lovely chairs and little tables some with great views. While we were looking around we found a sweet young woman manning the Snack Bar, she had some lunch items left and we chose to have something to eat there instead of waiting for the Grill. I had an English Muffin with cheese, egg, sausage and coffee, all for about $5.00 and that cannot be beat!

Once you are off the main drag and into Fenney it is really quite beautiful. They have left the lovely huge old oaks around the rec center and the grill and it really gave a feeling of old Florida.

However, from my point of view, it is too far out from what I think of as the center of TV. The traffic coming off the turnpike was heavy and moving really fast, and I did not like driving through areas that were definitely not TV. I am sure if you are new to TV and this is your first experience you will have a different take than me. Also I am very settled where I am so I would never consider moving to a new area such as this. I guess I am a creature of habit.

But - gotta give it to the developer, the vision of taking this (to me) barren area and seeing the potential is quite incredible and I am sure that in time it is going to be just as beautiful a place to live as anywhere else in TV.

Nice review of the new area.
Just wondering where you encountered the heavy traffic coming off the turnpike?

As we turned right out of the Fenney entrance, back on to the main road the traffic was mainly large trucks, pickups, work trucks etc., coming off (I am assuming 75) going past the entrance to Fenney. I am not familiar with the area so I may have my roads wrong, but there was considerable traffic and it was speeding.

I did notice a rather nice home along the road which had been completely walled off - maybe a "hold-out", but TV homes were being built right up to his wall.

I guess the area is just different from what we see around here.

I see, that is about 3-4 miles from the turnpike.
Speeding? Strange nobody speeds in Florida.

It might be a delightful golf car ride, personally I can't wait to see what the path is like

I think you might be talking about trucks coming off of 301. Were they coming from the west?

The trucks were most likely going to and from the various entrances to the Village as there is a ton of construction going on down there. We were in there several times a day for the month of May and when we would encounter trucks on the way in or out, most would turn south on 501 or the entrance west of 501. There would be no reason for I-75 traffic to be there, if they were going east they would use 44 from the exit ramps, going south they would stay on 75 or take 301 further down. We've been gone a month and will be back down next week to have our furniture delivered to our home in Fenney and are anxious to see how much more has been built.

So our grands are reading the paper and said over 100 homes have already been sold, in Fenney. Can we go. Hey on my IPhone it shows a prison not far from there... I wonder if its the same size as the one I drove past on my way to college?

Interesting that young minds know about the prison, but some who live here didn't. Grands loved the area and the pool was like at our gym up north. Used to driving 45 minutes to get anywhere, so trip to Fenney was a quick adventure.
